Seems like a lotta hoops to jump through to save 8 or 9 dollars

Like what applying a coupon code or choosing a payment method?

I've requested admin to remove your account, you have dishonored this family.

    • Can you transfer the $8 to me then?

      • To many hoops. He should just drop it on the floor

    • Name definitely does not check out…

  • meh, i got it for $39 from the ebgames tradein deal, and it was super easy too

by the way its coming out at ebgames on the 10th of december

Special Order -Leaves warehouse in 18 - 25 business days, who can wait that long?

    • People waiting for the PS5/XSX upgrade!

    • -1

Considering it appears to be a buggy mess at the moment, it's probably wise to wait a bit.

  • +1

Reviews are in. They say it’s decent but it’s not the messiah of games that way too many people expected it to be. Hype hype hype. I’ll wait till it’s <$50 with dlc bundled… and I loved Witcher 3, so not hating or anything.

Really? The "trusted" review sites are all giving it fantastic reviews - 9/10 etc

Where are you seeing these reviews?

      • -1

Trusted review sites… so those paid by developers?

        ;)

        • "trusted" as in ones not paid……………IGN is always a good one and they gave it 9/10, they are a hard reviewer, so 9/10 means awesome

          • @the-fuzz: Gamespot I have found to be harsher than IGN over the years and they gave it a 7.

          • @the-fuzz: What dimension have I accidentally stepped into where people think IGN are one of the "trusted" ones?

      • PC Gamer and Gamespot scored it around the 7 range and Giant Bomb called it undercooked. The reviews are apparently without the day 1 patch though.

From what I have seen of reviews they all mainlined the story, which is fair enough considering their time constraints, but most players are going to spend most of their time doing side quests and exploring the world.
For huge games like these the day 1 review are usually not indicative of the experience the normal player will have.

They all dock points for being buggy. Saying that while playing an unpatched early disc build of the game? Witcher 3 is hailed as one of the best games of the generation yet it was a buggy frustrating pos when it came out, too.

  • True, but you can't play on day 1, and if not good you still have enough time to sell it for good value, I spent $69 for tlou2 and still managed to sell it for $55 after 30 hours of torture (finished it in two weeks). Similar for Crash 4 $69-$60, Ghost of Tsushima (best game of the year) $69-$60

Sounds like you need to leverage EB Games 7-day return policy.

      • 7 days not enough to finish, normally 2-4 weeks, plus games at EB normally 50% more expensive than others.

        • Pre-order (with 2 games traded in) for $29 is still available… but getting 2 games cheap that would trade in for over $10 each isn't that easy.

Level 4 members have 10 days.

        • Fair enough. EB Games do price match, btw.

      • Out of curiosity, how exactly does this work? Can you unwrap and play the game and return it within 7 days for a full refund? OOTL, sorry

        • +2

Yes, it's basically a paid trial. I did it with the last Doom game, played it for 5-6 days and didn't like the new play style, so i returned the game no questions asked. Just said "yeah I didn't like it"

          • @tritorius: That’s awesome. Basically, if you can beat the story within the timeframe, you get to enjoy the entire game for free.

Would be especially useful if you wish to exploit this trick for games like TLOU2, Uncharted etc, that contain a linear story progression with no/limited multiplayer aspect.

Do you need to be a certain tier/member reward level to gain this benefit or is this a new initiative?

  • I am a CatchClub member but no free delivery?

    • In the box where the price is shown, it says:

Please note: This offer is not eligible for Club Catch discounts or delivery caps. The product will be charged & posted individually.

In the Club Catch page, it says that free delivery is available on "eligible products" only. I guess this means this item not eligible.

  • Has anyone had luck pre-ordering a physical copy for pickup? I thought i'd cancel my Amazon order since it's delayed and pre-order at a store but EB, JB and Harvey Norman don't have availability only stock for delivery.

    • I put in a click and collect order for Hobart which seems to have gone through fine. Maybe it depends on individual store stock.

      • JB Hi Fi Hobart, to clarify.
