  • Is it the Global/International Version? I have the older version of this and it is China version…but have to use 'special' app… works on Andriod but not IOS. I do not dare to update the firmware concern that it will not work with Andriod after the upgrade. Food for thoughts.

It's the Global Version according to reviews/questions. Read the thread I linked above for more info regarding the hack, several mentioned it works and quite easy to do.

use aliex344 for more discount. It will down to AUD36.68 for both.

    • I get this message when I apply aliex344

This promo code is only applicable for users who have never placed an order on AliExpress.

Good discount for anyone placing their first order.

  • any chinese good brand camera that works like eufy ? wireless with 6-8 months battery life.
or maybe just door bell with camera?

    • The issue with Chinese brand door bell is the cloud infrastructure/server connection response time is too slow for us as the nearest server is sitting in Singapore for international versions while the Chinese versions' servers are sitting in China. I had one from Xiaomi (https://au.banggood.com/Xiaomo-AI-Face-Recognition-1080P-Inf… but Chinese version) and the response time took about 10~1 minutes seconds to establish the connection while Ring only took about 5~20secs…

      • nah i dont want cloud base i prefer record to sdcard or to "home base" ie some kind of server in our house

  • Are the infra red lights on these the bright / obvious version that sticks out at night? I dont want people to know where they are and rip them off/ steal them.

Also, what happens if someone has a wifi jammer (as what happened to us yesterday)? Ie. Does it record to a SDCard / LAN cable option et C?

    • No infa-red lights, one blue led that can be switched off in the App. Has local storage, so records to microSD if you prefer not using the Cloud. There's a few YouTube reviews, appears to be a great budget camera. Can also be used outdoors with a special case. Still deciding if I should get one and hack it so can view on my Google Nest Hubs.

      • Cheers, do you know if it auto records video?

And does it do it retrospectively. Ie constantly loops, so if motion is detected it will go back and record from a few seconds before hand through to a few seconds after?

        • It records audio, also has two-way audio. Pretty sure it constantly loops similar to other motion detection cams. If motion is detected you get a six second preview, you can then view the full video via the App. Just read another review and it does appear to have blue IR lights not sure if these can be switched off.

            @adr8: Blue…infra red??

Probably the blue indicator + the night vision includes visible red (not pure infra red if you can see it).

Wont suit me as they will just rip them off my fence/ inside letterbox if they know they are there (if you want clear faces with 1080 you need to be within 2m).

            cheers for your efforts

            • @tunzafun001: Yeah not too sure, will have to do more research before purchasing.

  • Is this compatible with MiHome?

    • Someone mentioned it isn't but I do remember reading somewhere it was, so really not too sure :(

No it’s not in its native state. Has to be used with the Yi Home app
