Don't fall for their bullshit 'sales' tactics they inflate their prices above what they normally are so are still selling around their normal everyday price if not higher with their fake 'sale'. Try not to support them during this fake 'sale'.

    • +20

The stuff I was looking at was almost all cheaper than it was yesterday (fragrances, deodorant, hand sanitiser), except for one product that went up quite significantly when the catalogue ended (but that product was on a good special).

The new catalogue starts today and runs up until Christmas so it's not their usual thing of having no catalogue running during the 10% off sale, but it's a House of Wellness catalogue which are usually weaker.

Hell of a job to change all those tickets in store

      • +8

You'd be surprised what minimum wage retail employees are willing to do to keep their job

      • +2

        You are correct.

        Source: did that today.

    • +8

Your post suggests that they seem to be other places which are cheaper in price; can you please shed light on this? I have worked in many pharmacists and Chemist Warehouse is one of the cheapest one in the industry. You be surprised that some of the smaller pharmacists charge almost twice for S8 items and this especially hurt those that are getting their medicine supplies in bulk (aka Webster pack).

      • Specials are item specific, I've found many times the stuff I need were cheaper at others.
This store can't make sure everything is cheapest, their price matching policy is just above joke.
If you are in this industry, you should know.

        • They always price beat when I found a cheaper item

    • +2

We use QV products that rarely discounted. This type of sale is when it’s good time to buy. Having said that, except the 1.25L wash that exclusive to them, other products is sometimes cheaper elsewhere (last time I checked the cream was only slightly more on Amazon after CWH 10%, so I got it delivered on Amazon)

      • +1

Yeah half of the "we'll price beat" are on things that cannot be beaten because they're are exclusively for them

      • Same with Dermaveen Wash.

        Stock up while discounted!

    • Just buy items aren't inflated.

    • -7

As someone who works at CW this is completely false. Learn your facts.

    • +2

Well, I bought 7 items last night. Only one item's price went up. The other 6 items' price are the same as last night. They are cheaper with additional 10% off if I buy today. But I won't bother to cancel and reorder.

      So I think it depends.

    • +1

Totally. I had 3 things to buy on my list, and all of them went up by 25% though now showing on special. CW manipulates the legal limits of discounts very well.

  • They’ve taken off Chanel Allure or sold out overnight.

    • +2

That must have been an alluring item

    • Must've been quite alluring.

  • Thanks Op! This is really helpful to me xxx

fake Sale, last week paid $29.99 for my bondi protein now up to $39.99 take 10% off = 35.99

    • +2

Isn't that just the difference between it being discounted from a catalogue sale and full price with the 10% off? Do you expect them to discount every item in the store for a catalogue cycle and then apply a further 10%?

The best deals come from stacking it with whats on sale in the catalogue but some things are worth it just for the 10%.

My wife loves D&G Light Blue. They're regularly the cheapest at $79.99 for 100ml and with the extra 10% off makes it a good deal. Another example is Sukin which is half price. Good prices with the extra 10% on those.

Good timing, I still need to complete my 28 degree offer, if others are on the same boat the offer finishing on the 20th:

  • +4

The products I was looking at were cheaper than before the sale. Feels bad.

  • Thanks OP - didn't realise mychemist had free shipping over $20. What I wanted was actually 10% off (been watching the price) and mychemist was 90c more expensive than Chemist Warehouse but I'd pay 90c for shipping especially as I don't need more stuff right now.

  • +3

excellent deal. I normally buy 10 to 15 items from CW regularly so I know their normal prices. When 10% deal comes then I stock-up items that are cheaper after 10% discount and those with high prices I leave it for next month as they change catalogue items very often.

Also It is good to wait before jumping to buy as normally I observed that CR or SB will add another 5% to the deal mostly after a day or two… so worth waiting until cashback increased on CR or SB…. IMO.

    • Good to know. Thanks. We regularly buy stuff from CWH, but I don't really keep track of their price. What stuff you usually buy?

      • mostly vitamins and some OTC medicine that i keep stock on.. !

        • Thanks. By any chance do you know if there is cashback for OTC medicine, such as Voltaren rapid 25? I know there is no cashback for prescription medications. Thanks.

          • @apple0604: in past I always get cashback on lozenges or Panadol that I buy … not sure current status…. I will wait until third day before I buy…. as normally I miss out on higher cashback by buying early.

  • +1

Last sale I recall seeing On Sale items like nappies or formula for $0.01 mark down on many baby items. Wow, the savings !

  • The price of vitamins sold by Coles ( sale ) is lower than that of Chemist Warehouse.

    • +2

Only buy (most) vitamins there when they’re half price or lower (same as Coles btw). Not this 10% sale.

    • Best buying is the ones already half price. Never pay much more than half price for vitamins as they're discounted that often at one place or another.

For example Swisse Men's Ultivite 120's, $35 at Coles, $29.99 at CW, down to $26.99 with the extra 10% off.

  • -2

Going the American way eh! Medicine driven by marketing and sales are not a good combo.

  • Great, I need to replenish my supply of goat soap.

  • -8

Fake sale. Some of products which I bought for 36$ at CW are now 64$. You get 10% saving. Awesome!

    • +1

From last week? From the catalogue sale that ended last night??

    • -2

Of course it’s fake….omg! Price jacking at its best.. lol

      • +1

INC Whey Protein is normally sold CW at 44$ currently it's on 58.49 with 3 DAY FRENZY SALE!!

Secondly, people have neg my comment. Were you suppose to neg the deal? I just shared a fact not an opinion either.

  • -2

    is this Australia's cheapest chemist

this is a funny way of advertising

    • Laws prevent pharmacies from advertising that they are cheaper than their competitors - posing a question gets around this ;) notice the "is this?" is in very small font

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • +2

Bought 2 Ethical Nutrients MEGAZORB @ 49.99ea yesterday. Price today is $54.99 without discount.
Paid by mastercard where there is a $20 cashback on total sale invoice of $80 :)

  • Is there anyway to check what the prices were before so as to not buy into a faux deal? Is there a website like camelcamelcamel for this?
    Any help is appreciated :)

    • Go to https://pricehipster.com/ and pick Chemist Warehouse in the Stores include dropdown menu.

They're missing a lot of products though.

  • Shipping code not working for me:
"Invalid Voucher! or Order does not meet the condition!"

(I'm buying more than $20 worth of stuff so it should meet the conditions).

    • +1

Which site are you using? My Chemist or CW?

  • +1

The Sukin stuff is 1/2 price at the moment. Take the 10% off that makes it a nice reduction. Got some of the rose hip moisturiser.

  • +2

INC Whey Protein is normally sold CW at 44$ currently it's on 58.49 with 3 DAY FRENZY SALE!!

Secondly, people have neg my previous comment. Were you suppose to neg the deal but did neg my comment? I just shared a fact not an opinion even.

I had to search in Web Archive because last time I purchased it, I recalled paying something like 36$ and yea it was 38.99$

    INC Whey 38.99$ Web Archive
INC Whey 58.49$ with today's sale

    • +1

The INC protein range regularly sells for the "EDLP" (it doesn't have an RRP since it's a Chemist Warehouse home brand) during crap catalogues, archive.org just happened to catch it during a reasonable special (probably because that's when people link to it).

If it helps, My Chemist's catalogue is different and that particular product is selling for $40.94 after the 10% off bringing it closer to the prices you've seen before.

  • Still better than Priceline, Priceline doesn’t even price match

  • I usually buy Optifast and it has been jacked from the last Black Friday sales by about $10, even after the 10% discount. So no deal for me.

  • I just bought a blood pressure monitor (Omron HEM7320). I thought their site advertised price here (https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/shop-online/724/blood-pr…) @$170.99 was the discounted price.

Clicked on the product specific page (https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/73664/omron-hem7320-…) and the price dropped to $153.89!

Then 1% Cashback as well! (another $1.54 off).

The above price of $170.99 is already the cheapest around. Medical supply shops are quoting around this ex GST, and then you need to pay delivery.

$152.35 delivered is unheard of for this device and very very cheap pricing.

Thanks very much OP, you saved me a bomb.
Chemist Warehouse isn't always the cheapest, but its far better than others (like Priceline).
There's a comment above stating they inflate their prices… that's definitely not my experience.

    • Any chance heath fund (eg Bupa) covers any cost of if such blood pressure monitor for someone who needs regular monitoring?

  • +2

For someone who regularly taking the Iron supplement which can be quite expensive, this is a good bargain.
There are a lot of products that I use are generally more expensive compared to other pharmacy as well.
The key thing here is you need to know the regular prices and you know how to shop around.
And that theory applies to all the major online stores, not limited to CWH.

  • Damn, got $130 worth stuff from them last night which includes prescription medications. Anything I can do to get the 10% back now?

Re Prescription medication is opened already :(

    • Excludes prescriptions

    • Unlikely.

      • It literally says it on the website…. sooooo… yep, LIKELY.

Would have taken you less than 5 seconds to see it for yourself, its not like its hidden or anything. It's right on the banner!

        • I mean… I'm on the website and don't see anything. I work at CW myself and am sceptical that OP would be eligible for something like this, but if you can prove me wrong I'd be more than happy to hear it.

To clarify I'm talking about being eligible for receiving the 10% discount after-the-fact rather than the deal not being available for prescription items, which is true.

          Banner

          • +1

@lachlantula: Copy… we are in agreement.

I thought you were replying to me, in that it was unlikely to exclude prescriptions. Apologies.

  • Do we know if cashrewards or shopback are going to offer upsize cashback today? I'd like to make a purchase but won't bother going through them if it's still sitting at 1%

  • +3

They’ve taken Creed fragrances from the website, presumably so they don’t have to sell it for 10% off. Dodgy.

    • Yeah so dodgy, they did that last time too on their black friday sale.

  • Is anyone else anticipating the 10% off to come back for boxing day along with cashback reward surges? I'm trying to decide whether to do a big order now or wait until boxing day.

  • Anyone knows why BioCeuticals products isn't on the website? I've definitely seen them in store

  • As to whether its a fake sale or not, those who actually go in regularly to by stuff will notice what gets "marked up" then discounted. It is a random thing and i have noticed it since i do by stuff from them regularly. The items i buy i when on sale, looks like a genuine discount on their usual RRP. Having said that, i have noticed the odd item where what some people suggested has happened (lax removing of old tickets helps identifying them too)
