  • does OW PM catch?

    • I rang OW and they told me they had basically 0 stock near me. So i didnt bother pushing it any further.

      • Yep - they have stock in couple of stores which were not close for me, no stock in the warehouse so they can't deliver to my preferred store for pickup

  • When I added to cart it was $16.50. But checkout failed as it said out of stock. Deleted the cart and went back and added the item again. This time its $16.88 and I was able to complete checkout.

Great price if it's actual genuine..

  • this or kmart cable hmmm

My personal experience is the cheap cables work okay for a while but often die after a year or so for no reason. And many of the ebay cheapies dont work with sync to PC/mac even though they say "MFI certified". So I tend to only buy Apple, Anker or Belkin cables these days.

      • For me the cheap cables don't even last 3 months. Typically 1-2 months on regular/daily usage.
Apple/Belkin cables on the other hand get physically damaged / break out :(

    • -1

Good luck with a non MFI cable.

No difference between this and a Kmart cable except this one looks like genuine Apple. Buy whatever is cheapest as they will both stop working within a couple of months and risk damaging your phone when they do so.

  • Great price if this is genuine Apple product

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks got 2. Let's see if original

Did anyone check the Seller's feedback?

Questionable as to whether the item is original Samsung. I don't think it is.
Apple earpods they sell aren't genuine

  • Bought 3m from target for 5$ yesterday and it works perfectly with sync and charging

    • Link please

      • Link is broken but i can send you my order screenshot if you are after check in store there were plenty there

        • Thanks. Please PM me. Appreciate your help.

    • At the moment it does at least.

  • Awesome! Bought one

  • is this genuine apple?

  • +25

Just a heads up - I recently bought one of these and it broke within 30 days. I took it to the Apple store and was told that it wasn't genuine. Catch gave me a full refund but continue to allow OZsupplycentre to sell knock-off products on the marketplace.

    • and people keep buying from 3rd party sellers

    • I wouldn’t bother with any non genuine cables. They always break.

    • +1

Fair feedback. The ones I bought said "sold by catch" for $16.50 but theres also some sold by Ozsupplycentre for $16.88.

      Wondering if theres various supplies…..

A mod changed my title to the ozsupplycentre price of $16.88…. when I posted they said sold by catch for $16.50.

      • +1

The 1m one is still sold by catch

      • +1

Just out of interest, when your 'sold by catch' one arrives, take it to the Apple store and ask them if it's genuine. I have a strong suspicion they will tell you that it isn't but I'm not 100% sure so will leave it at that.

        • +3

Yeah I live 2min away from an apple store so will check it out.

        • Assume it is fake unless proven otherwise with this sort of stuff. The ad description doesn't even mention that it's genuine.

    • Anyone know if there is a way to tell if they are genuine Apple?

  • yea if non genuine, there is cheaper on ebay
the knock offs are far inferior quality
either stop working, or they break/snap easily

  • $16.95 through Personal Digital now…

  • Based on price obvs fake

  • +1

Back in stock now at $16.95
Managed to get Officeworks to pricematch 2 of them at $16.10 each

  • +1

Back at $16.50 from Catch. Best bet is to price match though.

  • I had success with Officeworks price match too, managed to pick up 3 of the 2m USB-C to Lightning cables at my local store for $16.10 each. Total price match savings $113.69 :)
However they wouldn't price match the 1m cable, saying that it was a different product code to theirs. Sure enough, Catch.com.au shows MQGJ2FE/A, while the code on Apple's website and at Officeworks is MK0X2AM/A.

"Thank you for contacting Catch customer service.

I have reviewed the listing for these orders and the listing does not advertise the items as genuine Apple products, they are third party cables that are compatible with Apple devices.

If you would like to cancel your orders please let me know via reply email and I can pass your cancellation request on to our Marketplace seller, OZsupplycentre.

I look forward to your reply."

    • thanks.

i will submit cancellation for my order as well.

    • It specifies on the page:

      Features:
      Apple cables
      Model: Lightning to USB-C Cable | MKQ42AM/A

It has the apple item number written as the "model"…

      Edit
Just spoke to customer service, they said there is no reason to believe that it's not genuine Apple.

      • the email from customer service in NitroNinja's post shows that catch customer service admitted that the item is not genuine Apple product but rather third party cables.

        • That is why I responded with what I wrote about my experience. It's strange that it's different. It's also strange that they stated it "does not advertise the items as genuine Apple product" where it clearly states on the page:

          Features:
          Apple cables
          Model: Lightning to USB-C Cable | MKQ42AM/A

      • +1

They just copy the Apple item number? Tons of fakes on eBay do it…

        • yeh, exactly. it doesnt even say Genuine apple product anywhere in the ad.

impulse buy to throw away $17.

when i get the product i will check it against that apple website that shows how to detect non genuine cables and provide catch support with them. hopefully they will do something about it

I've bought another so called "genuine Apple" product - 3.5mm earpods - on Catch that turned out to be fake.

I sent them a polite email and they immediately refunded the purchase and I didn't need to send it back

I'm pretty sure they know its fake yet they keep selling them…

  • Did anyone receive their order yet? Was it genuine?

  • Just got delivery. It's official Apple product :)

    • Does it have the writing on the cable?
