These are a good idea but having Wifi near a new born all the time might not be.

    • or it might benefit them, there's no conclusive evidence either way…

  • +2

it's probably cheaper just to get an ip camera…

  • Good price!

  • +2

Meh, you can get an IP camera from mangocam for ~$100, and buy a camera app for it for a lot cheaper, which is what I do :)

    • agree, it's way too much for a IP cam + iphone app…

Works with the FOSCAM app on the iphone, also has android support

    • gees…so the REP's one has a markup of ~300%…..for a similar product

      • +3

That's because the REP's one is marketed at new parents who think they need to monitor every moment of their child's life, with white/baby blue/baby pink colored products.

and it is a "i" product (iBaby). all "i" products are immediately at least 50% more expensive.

        • i smell a biased apple hater :D

        • +1

nope! happy owner of my 3rd iPhone, and have owned various iPod's continuously since 2002. It was more a shot at the marketing trend to put an "i" at the beginning of any product description (probably since the success of the iPod), in an attempt to position it as "design cool".

  • may be the deal is ok.

but other baby monitors are straight forward and much cheaper
I agree with JV - IP cam or CCTV came would be enough
babies are normally in bed room.
parent often need to dash to the kitchen to get milk/foods
that would normally takes a few minutes only.
so installing a monitor in the kitchen should cover it.

    Yes you pay for style,

Anyone who uses an Apple product are paying for style,

But if you think we are "ripping you off", seriously get real

We make $15 selling them at this price, go figure, maybe we are idiots stocking them too

The IP cams suggested above are ugly, requires an additional dish to connect, but i'm sure there's better design for cheap and i'm sure they do the job just fine.

voice activated alert, a gimmick, maybe, that depends if your baby sleeps in the same room or in a seperate room.

But anyone who goes on buying a Apple product do see value in design - Likewise, there are heaps of "morons" paying 2x more for a macbook air or an iphone when they can buy the equivalent for "half price". Go figure

Anyone, those who think we are making a killing selling these, give me a break..

seriously its offending when people whom never ran a business before just "assumes" cost.

    • I'm not saying ibaby is Crap, I'm saying many people simply won't care.
There is only a very small, niche market for the ibaby product.

your first statement about people paying extra for style is true.
howerver, your assumption about everyone/anyone using Apple ipad/iPhone because those iDevice look nice is wrong.
The biggest draw with those products are the follow statement
"it's good enough to be simple"
      and
      "it's reliable enough to keep"
      and
      "it's fun"

people dont just buy things because they look good, they are buying a solution to a problem
so the good look come last.

  • and lets not forget those cheapy 15 megapixel cameras vs the likes of cannon etc.

Spec on paper maybe the same, but you get what you pay for.

  • did you guys just raise the price? It's listed for $220 now. Am keen to get one. Thanks.
