There's a few trilogy movies on sale at iTunes currently for $19.99
Here's a few that I was watching, there could be more out there.

Lord of the Rings (Normal version) - recently upgraded to 4K (Dolby Vision/Atmos)

    No. The previous post on the iTunes extended version was implying that we won’t be upgraded.

      I thought generally it was just slow to upgrade.
      I’ve had quite a few way older purchases, including Disney ones, recently upgrade - some took a while to convert because iTunes is weird and mysterious!

    They removed the original HD listing on their store and then released a separate 4K version even though most of the time it'd be a free upgrade

    I have the extended versions on Apple TV and I just had a look and it is 4K. Nice and clear too. Great films.

        On my Apple TV app on my xbox one x. It shows up as HD on the iPhone though. I purchased them last year I think, both extended trilogies for $49 or something like that.
