1.3mp Trekker Tough Digital Camera $15.90 Including Delivery (Purple)

60

This is a 1.3MP (Interpolated 3MP) Digital camera that runs on 2 AAA batteries. I got a green one a while back for my son for Christmas, haven't opened the pack but it looks ok, kinda small. This would make an ideal cheap camera gift for a kid as they are supposed to be tough and rugged so can withstand some abuse i would think.

The camera gets some nasty reviews from amazon users, see here: http://www.amazon.com/Global-Trekker-Digital-Camera-Purple/d… even so this is likely the cheapest camera you can get for a kid???

Check here for user manual: http://images.ebsco.com/pob/GPP/catalog/TrekkerUserManual.pd…

They only have the color purple left and the included shipping is for Ipswich QLD, i assume it's the same aussie wide but i have no way to check.

Now be warned you will not get this before Christmas as Catch of the Day are notorious for slow deliveries.

I've tried cameras like this for my kids & they're just not worth it - don't even take 1 half decent photo & so kids get disappointed. Just don't do it to your kids.

Most likely true, however my kid is only 5yo, he has never even used a camera before, so for him the experience of just using a real camera will be good for him. Don't really matter if the pics turn out great, he will be happy either way.

      • I gave my 2yr old kid my old 5Mp camera.
I am sure you get a decent old camera from a friend or on freecycle.
those would take much better pics and you can even print the pics for your kids.

  • I wouldn't normally reply, but I bought 2 of these, and unless I got dodgy ones,.the AA batteries (might be AAA, dont remember) run out after literally 10 mins or about less than 20 photos. Keep away!
