Thanks. Purchased. Hopefully actually in stock

    • Well, as expected by most, it seems it's not in stock. Now my order also says "awaiting stock". I'm not going to be happy if they've lied/made a stupid mistake. Now my money is with them while there might be other opportunities to buy.

        Update:

I opened a ticket and asked about why it was saying "awaiting stock" and hot the following response:

"Good day! Thanks for your purchase.

We expect your order to be dispatched within this week.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance, have a great day!"

So looks like stock is in hand and just waiting processing. Good news.

Thanks mate. I got one too been waiting since it launched. Hopefully it is really in stock and will be sent out soon. Got confirmation email.

I thought I will never get this before Christmas

    So I bought 1069 from shopping experss…….

    T.T

    • +2

I saw some bid more than $1300 on ebay auction….
So I think 1069 is good price..
      OMG, only two weeks
      They have stock now

      • +3

        Patience is a virtue ;)

  • +2

    Great first deal OP!

    • +2

I totally agree with you but how bad are things that we are so desperate for an RRP to jump on lol

  • Cheers OP!

    • Unfortunately, it went up to $749. Managed to get it at $699 before it went up

      • +7

Oof, only $110 for an extra four cores AND a per core speed bump? That doesn't make a lot of sense…

        • +4

5800x was already poorly priced before rhe price hike, now it just makes no sense.

    • +1

      Cmon 5600x too pls!!

    Order status: Awaiting Stock

    • Order status is "in stock". Centrecom says even if the status later changes as long as you ordered when it was in stock then it will be allocated to you. They are usually good with stock indicators.

      • Really hope you're right. Definitely in stock, but my account order now shows "Awaiting stock".

        • I was in such panic mode that I chose guest checkout and used prefilled for the form. But in the email confirmation there is a link to order details. A URL. When click that it brings up full details of your order and under the SKU you should see a green indicator confirming it was in stock when you ordered.

          • @[Deactivated]: Yep okay mine says this also. Where it says awaiting stock is if i go in via my account on the website. Thanks for your positivity - need it. I ordered elsewhere at release time like a minute later, and that order has had 3 ETAs all pass. So i've cancelled that release time order regardless because i'm jacked off with that store and their lack of service. lol.

            • +1

@LikezDaBargainz: We'll know on Monday but fingers crossed. If centrecom has delivered then I'll do the right thing and buy a the remaining components from them since they didn't price jack like so many retailers.

              • @[Deactivated]: "Please Note: If the parts were in stock when you made the purchase they'll be allocated to you, even if the status changes to "sold out" later."

      • Centrecom says even if the status later changes as long as you ordered when it was in stock then it will be allocated to you. They are usually good with stock indicators.

        Incorrect

        • Did you order one? It says that on the receipt.

          • @[Deactivated]: Ordered a 3080 from them, instock at time order later cancelled and refund taking weeks.

A separate refund taking weeks for a different faulty item returned.

            Wouldn't trust them at all.

            • @Axelstrife: Some biased being negged you (i + you) for telling your experience

            • @Axelstrife: Always order with PayPal for super easy refunds. Just open a PayPal dispute.

              • @ATangk: Both where with paypal, they are bloody hopeless.

                • @Axelstrife: Paypal refunds should take no more than 48 hrs.

                  • @ATangk: Contacted twice about my returned faulty item refund since no refund happened after they confirmed id get a refund after they received it back, and the GPU after the canceled order email i didn't get my money back for a week since they didn't immediately hit the refund button only merely stated i'd be getting a refund.

      • mine says "picking"… so its better than the previous status.

        • +1

Each it changed a little later. I don't believe anything anymore with so many disappointments. I'll believe it when it's in my hand.

          • @[Deactivated]: Confirmed mine is shipped, so they did have it.

            • @LikezDaBargainz: Mine still says "picking". Did you get a tracking email?

              • @[Deactivated]: Mine just changed too to "complete" with a tracking number :) now to order all the other parts.

  • Even though it says in stock

  • What's the use case of 12 core processors. Just curious.

    • +11

Can run minesweeper and solitaire at the same time

      • This is true lol

And it will be great for productivity work.

      • While playing mp3

If you're gaming, bordering on zero.

But people like spending more and this fills that need.

      • +1

Gaming and leaving all your resource intensive apps open at the same time. That's the dream, never having to close anything.

      • +1

I don't really game, but my gaming friends tell me extra cores help when streaming your game.

      Virtualisation

Lower your After Effects render times? When you're sitting there lick a jackass for the 3rd 10 minute render because you kept living in rediculous spelling mistakes, then halving the render time makes you half the jackass.

      • +2

I see what you did there with "living". :P

    • +3

      Great for compiling C++!

    • according to OzB ppl you need 8 cores to browse the internet

      • You do for chrome.

    • You can play 12 mp3s at once. Technically, 24 at once. Without lag.

    • Transcoding video for editing, and the editing itself, then rendering: all jobs that benefit from more cores. I use an R7 3700X and would still love a 5900X for doing this work quicker!

    • +1

Plays 55 Porn hub videos at the same time. So I'm told anyway.

    • Encoding movies, TV Shows etc in HEVC is the highest use of a CPU along with rendering graphics for making video games. If you don't do either of those things it's absolutely pointless getting anything even close to this. I encode daily so this CPU would be a huge gain on my 6700K.

  • Order #5XXXXX status is now "Awaiting stock". So it's a preorder??

    • +1

In the email confirmation there is a link to order details. A URL. When click that it brings up full details of your order and under the SKU you should see a green indicator confirming it was in stock when you ordered.

      • Yes, there is a green indicator under SKU which means it was in stock when I ordered. But the Order Status is "Awaiting Stock"

        • Mine says "Order Status: Further Action". So I'm not sure it's very accurate. The colour codes are live and give a more positive indication so I'm concentrating on those lol

      • Same here, got the exact same message.

Everyone on discord who submitted a ticket also got the same template message.

People with order numbers #5364XX also got this message, which is kinda worrying since the first order number in that discord started at #53615X.

And the deal was first posted on reddit before that discord.

This means there must be over 300 stock. A bit unlikely.

      • Also, has your order status also changed to "picking" now?

        • Yes, it just changed this morning.

  • Got 1, thanks OP

I think ryzen 5000 will be in stock in most places from next month, check how many Scan expect to get every week in future: https://www.scan.co.uk/shops/amd/ryzen-5000-faqs

  • Any improvement over 3900x?

    • +1

For gaming like 20% I believe

      • Thanks, I probably wait then. I just bought mine earlier this year so I probably hang on to it until then.

Gaming 10-30%. Productivity 30%. Well worth the price.

  • good price and you get farcry 6 too (i think centrecom works for these promos)

    • yes it does

  • I thought I needed another 3 months to see this day but got one.
    Status is Awaiting Stock though.

  • +2

Remember when these were current gen and $600

  • Good lord what a pos website.

  • do the 5*** series run cooler than the 3***'s?

using the 3500x and even with noctua aftermarket cooler, i'm getting 45 degrees and sit at 65 degrees and by just having multiple chrome tabs open and some spreadsheets (50% cpu usage) does the 5*** also run hot? I did some googling and apparently the 3000's run this hot usually..

    • +2

Pretty sure the 5600 and 59xx run relatively cool.
The 5800x on the other hand… not so cool.
