  • How do these compete with extreme heat… Like Outback type of heat?

    • +2

The return rate on Viofo products is really low (<1% Of Sales) for us and they do well in all sorts of Australian weather conditions. We've sold hundreds of them into QLD, NT and WA where I suppose we see the harshest conditions and we've got many satisfied customers still going strong with their Viofo digital eyewitness!

Owned Xiaomi dashcam and Viofo v2, Viofo has proper heat resistance and so far so good.
      Xiaomi died within 1 year.

Add: parked under the sun no shed 8 hours daily. Max 35-38 degrees inside the car easily…

Same - have 2 Viofo’s in 2 cars parked outside always and they have worked flawlessly for over 2 years - These have capacitors not batteries.

  • That's a decent price for the Duo Plus for local stock.

I got the Duo Plus from Viofo international site for just over $200 delivered from China during their Black Friday sales, but that is the cheapest I've seen.

Took 2.5 weeks to arrive & would have to send back to China if any warranty issues, so 20% more for local support is pretty fair value IMHO.

    • Our stock is local Australian stock sourced from Viofo Australia so no grey market and you get local support from us and Viofo.

  • How do these compare to the black view type with have have sony starvis sensor? Edit. Just looked at into. Seems to have it.

    • The Viofo product is made in China and the quality of them is very good, we get very very few back under warranty. Blackvue are Korean made and are arguably the number 1 Dash Cam manufacturer with awesome features and quality. As the defining brand with bleeding edge features they are priced accordingly but are still quite reasonable with a solution for all types of wallets. We also stock Blackvue and will offer you great prices if you PM us here or on our web site.

  • What's a gold hard-wire kit to go with the duo?
Does someone have a link on DIY install?

    • The HK-3 Hard Wire kit is the Viofo Hard Wire kit - super easy to install too and really inexpensive.

  • Hi, I am interested in the Viofo A129 Plus Duo Dash Cam With GPS.

I want to buy it from your Ebay store as I have some Ebay vouchers. The Ebay store says estimated delivery Jan 5. Is this correct or is it the same as the online store - next day express post?

    Thanks.

    • This deal is standard post so it may arrive before Christmas for you but Express Post is available at an additional cost.

      • may arrive before Christmas

According to the order page, it hasn't even shipped (ordered on the 20th of December).

    • Mind sharing the eBay link?

      • Sorry I didn't respond earlier, just saw the response now.

D a Google search for "Ebay Linelink" (no quotes) or search Ebay for "Viofo Plus Duo" (no quotes) it will show up.

Price has gone up now (sorry) but I ordered through Ebay on Monday and it DID arrive today.

        • Hey, not to worry, that's fine.

Will need to keep an eye out for the next sale. Wanted a dashcam for a while now.

Btw, are you doing the installation yourself with the hardwiring kit?

Let me know how you went!

  • I love my A129 Plus Duo but hate how it decimates my DAB+ reception in my CX-8 :-(

    • Is that WiFi related?

      • Nope, related to running a front to rear coax too close to the DAB antenna / cable.

    • Wired our a129 Duo on cx5 (probably the same wiring loom as cx8). Wired via the rubber boot to the right to get from tail gate to the car then down the right side. Has not effected the DAB radio at all.
Could be that the cable is running in paralllel with the DAB antenna cable and even though shielded you can get crosstalk that causes interference.

      • Some vehicles are quite sensitive to where cables are with the DAB antenna. We agree with you @perthectdeal - best to cable away from the DAB antenna cable.

    • @doogiechap - Have a chat with whomever installed it for you, route the cable away from the DAB antenna and it should be good as gold!

      • Thanks everyone. It was me that installed the setup…. Sigh….. I'll rerun the cable.. I really appreciate the advice :-)

  • For anyone who ordered from this deal, has yours shipped?
