Aargh get me out of here.

  • possible to use fake phone number? i guess just "misspell" one number of your mobile thats it.

    • Would highly recommend using a fake. If you use your real number they will call you many times asking you to sign up.

Definitely use a fake number, unless you already know that you will join.
The sales people are very desperate and persistent, annoying too.

I hear they only offer free 3 day guest passes to anyone who has ever walked into fitness first and said "can I have a 3 day guest pass".

I wonder if you have to sign up to all the rubbish and talk about your life goals in a warm fuzzy manner and be made to feel bad when you come in to say you dont want to achieve anything and you want to leave fitness first and destroy your life and ambition.

You can get a trial at any gym you walk into.

    3 days is nothing

I cannot speak highly for any free pass offered by Fitness First. Basically once you get in there, they will ask you to fill in a form full of your details. Then there is a sale rep giving you a full 20 mins sales pitch. You won't have much time left to workout on your first visit. It is more like a tour around the museum. It is more horrifying with what happens next… basically some one will call you every another day to try to sell you a gym membership. Even you tell them to stop calling you, someone different will dig out your number again in 2 months time and start all over again.

Fitness First used to be a good gym. Now it is expensive, overcrowded, worn equipments, dirty locker room. And most importantly, quite a few of their staff are simply rude. It is like the customer begs them to be their customer. With all the new gyms opening up these days, definitely find somewhere else.

yeah i agree, mainly with the staff.. I quit fitness first awhile ago after I pulled a muscle while running and the stuff didn't know how to help me/probably wouldn't helped if I hadn't demanded for some sort of chill pack that was kept in the first aid kit.. absolute jokers..

    • I've had exactly the same thing happen, word for word.

Earlier this year I used a free 3 week pass, which I found useful as I was in between gym memberships. I did get a bit of a spiel and multiple phone calls, but they did eventually realise that I was not going to join up, especially when I mentioned that I had decided to return back to my former gym that costs me $7 a week. Obviously, Fitness First has way more facilities, but on a price point, they couldn't compete and they figured out they weren't going to be able to squeeze money out of me.

3 weeks is worth it, but not 3 days.

  • Save your money and build your own home gym :)

In the process, save time in travelling, hassle free parking, comfort of your own home, can be as daggy as you want lols.

  • well yeah.. 3 days of sales pitch with 3 months constant cold calling afterwards will definetly sounds like a bargain to me. mehhh no fitness first ever again!

  • btw if you google 'free gym pass' you'll find various sites that arrange these free passes etc.

    this isn't a deal. it's spam.

  • they always do free trials…

  • yep, nothing to see….next! :)

Sorry everyone for posting a crappy deal, I guess at the very least it may inform some people about the traps with Fitness First posted above… One day I will find a ripper deal and be first to post it :)
