  • Wow, when we need to activate by ? 30 days ?

    • wondering the same, as my current one expires in march 2021. T&C says:

You must activate your chosen prepaid plan on catchconnect.com.au within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised on the promotion (whichever is earlier). Additionally, you must activate your Catch Connect SIM card within 24 months of purchase, otherwise the SIM card will be cancelled and any credit associated with it will be forfeited.

not sure if i get the same deal after activating in march, which would be around 3 months from now ?

      • +1

I have activated it after two months I think. Others have confirmed of the same

        • can confirm that. The official response I got is the credit has one year expiry.

They can only guarantee for 30 days after purchase you will be getting what you were purchasing. However, if activating after 30 days, I will be on whatever plan is running for the same price.

When I got the letter and Sim card (from a previous deal), it stated "… must be activated within 24 months of purchase"

  • This is a good deal, got the one from a similar deal but have now realised that I probably use more data than I thought I would. Question: can I simply pay for one of these plans and use it to recharge my current plan? Or does it not work that way?

Are there cheap ways to re-charge? (apart from 8% GCs?)

  • +1

Dont forget the Catch gift cards if you have access.

  • Will this be an easy switch over from boost?

    • +2

yep - I ported from Boost over to Catch Connect on the weekend and it took 15 minutes!

      • Thanks

      • Does Catch send you a SMS to confirm you are porting over to them? and did you need to reply to that SMS?

im just wondering if i need an active service or i can let my plan lapse for a week.

        • i think it's probably best to port while your service is active. i ported from Boost the day before my Boost plan was to expire. Didn't get a text from Catch about porting over to them but Telstra (boost) sent me a text saying they received a request to transfer/port my number and only to reply if you didn't arrange for this request. So no need to reply to the Telstra SMS. Once the number successfully ports over to Catch, they will send you a text when you activate your new sim with them :)

      • Hello mate , could you care to explain the process of Porting from Boost to Catch Connect , I am new to this and never ported a sim in my life before.
thanks Have a happy new year.

        • @cl4r4

  • No more Latitudepay offer ?

    • Expired unfortunately

    • There is one atm.

  • Can we buy the gc at Coles or WW ? If so, I can buy there this Sat for 10% zip cashback

    • Yes you can

      • Yes, even better price, to buy at Coles and pd with Citibank cc.

  • Damn…recharged boost two weeks ago, thus deal is too late!

  • NETWORK used in title, thanks

  • Optus is the network

  • Is this one of the cheapest yearly plans around? i bought anyway!

  • The deal is good but should i really give up international calls (available on Coles Mobile and boost) and also no Telstra network??

    What's people's opinions ??

International calling is really handy when you actually need to make some calls

    • I don't make international calls. But, for the sake of a little extra a year I'm considering going with Coles. Just seems like something handy to have up my sleeve if I need it

  • Is porting numbers easy with catch? I was thinking about putting my gf on this plan but when I ported my number with optus I had to call them and it took nearly an hour.

  • I'm on Catch Connect 180 days plan. Can I switch to this one keeping the number, or use it to recharge?

  • Awesome deal, thx mate

  • Anyone know what this means in the T&C's
"You must activate your chosen prepaid plan on catchconnect.com.au within 30 days of purchase or by the date advertised on the promotion (whichever is earlier). Additionally, you must activate your Catch Connect SIM card within 24 months of purchase"

So we need to select and activate the plan within 30 days but don't need to activate the sim till within 24mnths of purchase. So activating the plan does not activate the sim, is that correct?

    • It means you have 24 months to activate the SIM but only 30 days to get this plan. So if you activate within 30 days you get this plan. If you activate after 30 days you have to select some other plan (or they do) that takes its place. But since you've paid for 12 months of use on whatever plan you wind up on, who cares. Something else cheaper/better will come up in the next 12 months anyway.

  • Never mind i just bought it so will just use this rather than boost (which i originally thought/wanted of using)

  • How often does catch offer these mobile deals?

  • The uniday code doesn't work on catch connect website?

    • +2

It works on catch and the link goes to catch and not catch connect

  • Does anybody know if they have international calls?

    • You have to buy the Xtra pack for it.

    • Coles Mobile essentially offer the same plan but with international calls for $99 all up

  • I bought two sim plans (one 60gb and one 120gb) in one order for two different devices but have only received one sim. Anyone done the same? I'm assuming one just got delayed in the post and is on its way or should I be worried that they consolidated the credit into one?

  • People who have this - could you give us a quick review?
Was contemplating getting this for my mother who doesn't use much data but a quick google “catch prepaid sim review” shows nothing but negative reviews…

    • +1

Catchconnect is fine, provided you have no issues porting to them and the locations that you primarily use it have good Optus service.
Have had my auntie on this for a few months and she has no issues.

      • Cheers, shes currently on optus prepaid so fingers crossed a similar experience.

  • This is an amazing deal, wanted to buy it for my younger brother since he doesn't really need a phone, but the unlimited talk and text would be practical to have for only $80. The only issue is he's already on another 365-day plan haha

For anyone else looking at buying this for someone who doesn't use their phone too much, the 5GB per month and unlimited talk/text is perfect if you're looking for a budget plan :)

  • Thanks OP.

Saves me having to buy the monthly $5 Kogan SIMs.

  • Hey, I am considering using this deal to get a mobile plan. Can someone who has already done it please confirm that you can stack the giftcard, unidays code and cashrewards cashback? If so, this is a great deal! Thanks :)

    • Can someone who has already done it please confirm that you can stack the giftcard, unidays code and cashrewards cashback? If so, this is a great deal! Thanks :)

You can stack giftcards and unidays. But cashback won't work as you're using a unidays code.

That's a general rule for all cashbacks - the use of codes invalidates any cashback unless the code is specifically listed on the cashrewards website.

  • Thanks. Much appreciated. Still a good deal.
