Seems to be a decent deal though haven't bought it as don't need one at the moment. Have been using the bread maker of the brand and pretty happy with it.

    Had one of these develop a slightly loose cover after a while. It's hell to clean up (don't remember the brand though). Any similar experiences with this one, or is it good?

    Reminds me of mum's old Kenwood Chef mixer from the late 70s.

    Don't use the high wattage act as a proxy for mixing strength. These cheaper mixers use tiny high wattage motors (geared down) akin to the type used in stick mixers. As a point of comparison, Kitchen Aid mixers use more low torque ~300w motors.
