Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14-Inch R7-4800U/16GB/1TB SSD Laptop $1688 + Delivery @ Harvey Norman

260

A very well reviewed device at a good price - plus you don’t have to deal with the 6+ week Lenovo shipping times.

Not sure if this has the better 90hz panel or not - haven’t been able to find that info online.

The lack of physical dimensions and weight on the HN website made me irrationally angry. I can understand omitting the internal graphics info, but weight? Even dummies who know nothing about laptops would like to know about its weight.

Also, this is the FHD and not QHD version that Just Josh tested and CPU is slightly weaker (4800U vs. 4800H that was reviewed).

This is Slim 7, the one reviewed is Slim 7 Pro

Ahh yep. My bad! Good pick up!

  • Would the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 be a better buy at $1289? Specs seems similar eg 16gb ram, 1tb ssd etc..

Normally you'd find this in the PSREF (a useful site for finding more detail on Lenovo prebuilt machines, all you need is the MTM number and it will give you the details), however all it says is that it's got a 14" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 300nits Glossy, Glass, 100% sRGB display. Not sure if that helps narrow it down.

Went into HN and saw it today. Was tempted to buy it but on the fence. Last laptop I bought I got burned so I am in two minds.

Can confirm it's a 60Hz panel. I believe its 400 nits as well but can't confirm.

this, or g14 at $1537 after cashback?

Are you going to game on it? if yes -> G14

  • I would buy this except my 5yr old laptop is still going strong. For the portability, build and ports, I don't think you can do much better.

  • OK bought. Went to check out in person and it looks very well put together

    • Out of curiosity, why did you pick this over the g14 which tlc72 mentioned? Everything looks more superior except for the lesser hdd space and slightly heavier.

  • Not concerned with gaming. So I'll take the bigger SSD and webcam, over the 1650ti (which I'll never use).

  • Hi guys
I went into HN today and I was so close to buying but the sales staff was pushing hard on the product aftercare thing and giving me all the strategies - I know there are some threads on this but anyone had a good experience? He was making out like I can upgrade to anew laptop really easily after a year??
Also what’s the diff between this and the deal posted here

  • thanks mate, I decided to just pull the trigger and get this. I have been wanting to get a premium ultrabook for ages now, and this always seemed like the best option. It was previously ridiculously expensive, but this deal brings it down to a far more reasonable price. Im sure we have newer models releasing here soon (hopefully not another HN exclusive, maybe a yoga slim pro, or a carbon model?), but i can totally live with this system's specs at this price even if they do.
