I was looking for the Frame but the Serif was cheaper during Boxing Day sales vs the Samsung site at $1,499 and Samsung Education store at $1,574. Has a 200Hz motion rate. Am sold on the design though Q60t is cheaper.

The 43" is $995 which is the same as at Black Friday sales is back at the following sites. Links below are for the 55":

  • Does this model come with the one connect box & cable?

    • Nope, it has a panel at the back to funnel the cables into the bottom and then down the side. Can't wall mount it either.

    Looks ugly

    • The last models that looked like a picture frame looked better. This thing has a massive footprint and can’t be mounted on the wall.

      • Can’t be wall mounted, LOL. Thanks for the tip :)

      • They still have them its called 'The Frame'

probably sits well in the acropolis museum for a visual demo, not so much in my mancave

Side-lit panel. Most likely equivalent is a Q60T. I agree the design is subjective, however is look plain ugly.

  • I have the 43 version of this and it is exceptional

Looks great with the stand and has the same Tizen interface as many Samsung TVs

Every time I have a visitor at the house I get comments on this (as opposed to the 65’ Oled)

    • Hi, would you recommend using this as computer monitor? How are the viewing angles and input latency? Thanks

      • Input latency appears to be quite low - but for some more information I would advise looking up the performance of the Samsung Q60T panel which is more readily available - the Serif appears to use this panel.

      • I haven't used it as a computer monitor however I can't see why it would be bad. It has a QLED panel in it and seems quite responsive

Had low expectations on this set however totally impressed with how good it actually is

"200Hz Motion Rate" not native 200Hz OP

  • This doesn't have HDMI 2.1 I believe, so next gen consoles can't use the 200 Hz or native 100Hz

    • There’s eARC

      • If it does have eARC implemented over HDMI 2.1 it's an excellent choice.

I do like the chunky looks

“ Game Mode: Yes (Auto Game Mode (ALLM), Game Motion Plus, Dynamic Black EQ, Surround Sound, 4K@120Hz (HDMI Port 4))”
Seems like it has a 2.1 port?

      • +1

Yes , I've checked and was about to post . 55 inch and above have HDMI 2.1, wish the 43 inch had it too, would be perfect for study/Game room

  • Was looking at these today as well and saw there was no LAN port however assume most would use wifi. 4 channel 40W speakers are supposed to be quite reasonable on this model as well.

    • The sound is remarkably reasonable. Ive always used external audio on tvs however this was quite acceptable and had good depth

  • I bought one on boxing day from The Good Guys - I asked if they could go any lower, and managed to score $1370 instead of $1395. Worth asking!
