I bought one of these two years back from China. For those interested, the original model for this will be the Dingoo A320, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingoo_A320

  • Looks pretty good !

  • These are great, just don't expect miracles from the batteries.
OneStation is even better than Dingoo if you can find it.

for those interested in playing old school games (via emulators), i would suggest getting a cheap Huawei android phone (less than $100), that can do a whole lot more than just playing old school games!

    • +2

It can do more, just not right. This would be better.

Emulator on my DS lite does the trick for me.

      • +1

I was gunna say the same - any decent "card" in a DS and you have the same functionality as this plus a better interface and high quality rechargeable battery for about $10 (above the cost of the console)

      • A second hand DS Lite would be a much more valuable investment than the OP.

Kinda wish I never sold mine after buying a 3DS. :(

Damn this is pretty tempting, but as others have stated, there are other options which aren't just emulators, I'm pretty sure you can play these titles on a "updated" PSP too.

but the touch screen sucks compared to actual buttons

i already can play most of these on my psp

though having a small light device would be cooler

it would be cool if ipod touch had addon accessory like buttons

      • The Huawei phones he's referring to have a full physical keyboard.

    • Or just download a free emulator to play on PC or Mac.

      • Not quite as portable though…

    • Any particular deal on a Huawei phone you can recommend?

I've been tossing and turning over whether to get one of these for years. At the end of the day, it's still better to buy a PSP and mod that. especially since you can get the psp a1000 for only $120 brand new. the dingoo a320 (and a330) still has latency issues with a variety of snes titles, whereas the PSP doesnt.

its a nice niche system though that will be sure to impress someone on the train.

Ooooh I was poking around on the website and it has tv-out!
Not sure if my PSP does…
Pity you missed the $99 PSP 3000 from Amazon the other week…I didn't ;)

      • Your PSP probably does tv-out as long as it isn't PSP1000.

      • Pity you missed out on the the GAME $99 PSP 3000 ghost of Sparta collector's edition with free postage… I didn't ;)

        • DID ANYONE POST THESE??? T.T

    • dont bet on it. The dingoo has a dedicated community behind it. the only limitation to the dingoo is the system itself, whereas the limitation to most other machines are the communities that support them.

    I want a 'PFP'!

    • Honestly, if the PFP came out, all other hand-held platforms would die out. Possibly tablets and netbooks too! :D

Gotta love old school gaming. Also another option is dealextreme has the Dingoo A-320 73.70 usd delivered

  • nice.. I wish it was cheaper and played Colecovision..but then I'm a fussy bastard

    • How would you connect the steering wheel for Turbo?

  • DONKEY KONG <3

  • *Spoilsport alert

Don't forget that generally, in order to download the ROM you are required to already own the game. Alternatively, some companies have released their old catalogues as freeware.

  • i might want to sell my dingo. with case and still eveything on the box. plus tons of games.
iphone is more fun/.. jailbreak ofcourse

  • How does this go with old school arcade roms like 1942, galaga, gyrus, wonderboy etc.?

    • +1

works. you know callUS roms? i have all of them, and they works fine (sf 2 original, dino something… dynasty warriors, dragon knights, etc etc ahhh cant remember them anymore! play too much with iphone for the last 1 year lol)

      • Cool, thanks!
Is SF2 not a 6 button game? How does that work?

        • yes sf2 original (with only 8 fighters) is 6 buttons ! the device has 6 buttons.. there are 4 infront and 2 on the side just like psp. well, mine is original dingo. google it. i dont know about this device OP posted. maybe fake dingo with 4 buttons. wwanna buy mine? :)

        • Sweet, thanks! How much are you sellin yours for? lol

        • Looks like the OP has the two buttons on the front also, I wasn't lookin for them…

        • +1

          pm me.

  • So what is the best portable emulator system I could use, I have DS with emulators, I have PSP 2000 with emulators and I have a HTC Desire with no emulators? I find that they are mostly okay but still not as good as playing the original consoles. Then again, I haven't played them for over a year.

What kind of battery life are we talking with this device?

    • I bought the one off erwinsie, so far its pretty darn cool! I would say about 7 hours battery, give or take an hour :-)

I put dual boot Dingux on it for a bit more emulation (ScummVM for DOS games for example).

      Still tweaking, but very impressed!

As I have not tried a DS or PSP with emulators, I cannot compare directly…

  • i have mine for a year in the drawer and the battery still has charge! impressive baterry life for dingoo indeed, you can goggle it. make sure you read forums about dingoo, they have new firmwares and emulators.
