        • What happen after 600TB writes?
          Does it slow down or become unreadable?

            @congo:

            What happen after 600TB writes?

            i don't know. I haven't experienced it and don't personally know anyone who has.

            When SSDs were new, write endurance and reliability was used for fear mongering by skeptics, and it's something that's maintained through the years, even though year on year the endurance and reliability keeps increasing.

            In reality, aside from fringe cases like jkart, the typical user will never come close to seeing their SSD run out of write cycles.

          • @congo: In reality it’s a warranty condition. Some nas software might take it as an invitation to set it read only.

            Basically each write causes damage to the cell and the more writes to a specific cell the harder it is to read reliably. SSDs try and spread the writes around and have some spare cells to make them last longer. The more bits per cell the quicker it gets harder to read and generally the slower the writes. Faster drives have some ram as cache and some 1 bit per cell cache for writes that later gets moved to other multi bit cells when the drive has a minute to catch up.

            For most people who are just writing a game or movie or even OS files etc then reading them lots you’re really really unlikely to hit the limits of any decent large drive. They don’t make great drives for something like a surveillance system etc as yet.

  • I think I have just missed out on this amazing deal, is there anyway I can get it again. It's showing $315 now. Starting to build my PC this week and looking for good bargains.

  • Would it be possible to purchase a x16 pcie adapter card and get the 7000 Mb/s from a motherboard that only supports PCI v3.0?

    • If so, can someone please suggest a link?

  • I send you an e-mail but the website shows full price. How can I buy at the above price?

  • This deal is back for 48 Hrs!

    • Ordered one!

      Thanks op!

  • Hi I see it’s still 289. Im planning to pickup at my Waverley tomorrow is it possible? Thanks
