Newegg are one of the most popular parts stores in the world, of course scalpers will target it

  • 5900x also came in stock last night at 2 AM for $748 on amazon.com.au

    • How did you get the notification? I'm signed up with camelcamelcamel and the amazon notification system but don't seem to be getting notifications - I figured it was because they sold out too quick.

yes using camelcamelcamel. there are a few listings of 5900x so depends on which one signed up for.

it was in stock on 1st Jan at 12.30 am before this.

this is the listing i am tracking unfortunately couldn't buy it as was sleeping.

I find camelcamelcamel is very slow to send its notifications, it often takes a day or two which means high demand items will always be sold out by the time you find out.

[edit] Actually, I think it's because it checks the prices only once or twice a day, that probably explains the delay.

Found the explanation: yep, it's around 1 day.

This appeared about 9hrs ago on Newegg and was sold out in seconds as it was posted on one of the discord trackers.
For some reason the add to cart button still shows.

There is no point in posting something that goes away that fast. They don't have any stock anyway for it to be a deal.

    Managed to grab one, thanks!

  • Might just wait for Zen 4 instead

You’ll need everyone to cross fingers and toes for you. Glad I bought a half dozen when they launched and were in stock. All our editing systems running so much better now. Took a while to ditch the old 4790k and Intel.

  • how much of a "paper launch" is something when you can't even buy it months after launch. I wish there was some recourse for AMD/Nvidia (Sony/Microsoft too tbh). It's so shameful that rather than banking up stock until such time as they knew they could almost supply the market, they just paper-launch this stuff and be out of stock for months on end.

I do understand they're a business and it's better to recoup investment costs ASAP, but brand damage is a thing too, and ridiculously undersupplying the market to the extent they have, has eroded my faith in both of these brands sentiments towards their consumers.

newegg has no warranty on CPU, charge custom fee ~$15, and charge relisting fee(15%?) and postage($25) if you return an working opened-box CPU …

  • Back in stock

EDIT: Nevermind. Was a full 10 minutes this time, things are getting better lol.
