      Whatever you do… Don't get the s20 ultra unless it is significantly cheaper and you're happy with some auto focus frustration. There are some significant auto focus issues with the s20 ultra that were fixed in the note 20 and s21 by adding laser assist.

      The cameras on the non-ultras are pretty great too. You're just sacrificing the 10x zoom which for me isn't a huge deal, but may be for you if you want to take long distance shots.

    The website isn't letting me complete the transaction via credit card or paypal.
    Both payment methods give me the message "We are sorry but your transaction could not be completed at this time."

    I've talked to their live chat support and they're saying the website has no known issues.

    Waiting for the news offer code ($50) and already have the s21 pre order $100 voucher but used a Hotmail address. Unfortunately wasn’t previously aware of a Samsung account :-).
    Any issues using these if purchasing via a student account I.e. as those sent/linked to a different email?
    It didn’t sound like the $50 promo could be stacked with other promos but sounds like others have had success. Does this mean the ordering process via the Student site allows entry of multiple promo codes?

    Does anyone know if AU version supports mmWave. Livechat agents (2 off 3) confirms mmWave supported whereas specs comparison page indicates sub6 model based on weight.
    Also I couldn't see any detailed specs as yet.

        The three Samsung techs I spoke to were very confident that mmWave was supported. Shame if the phone only support sub6 …..lost opportunity for future proofing.

    What do you guys think about bigger size of ultra (6.8')?
    I know its relative but I am concerned size and weight will increase considerably once I upgrade from my S8.
    But I like 4 cameras of the ultra.

      Strange, im logged into the edu store and tried adding a few accessories, and tried the $100 code but keeps saying:
      The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions.

      Nevermind, You must have $100.01 or more….. to make it work. Anything less will say not affected.

      Hi @cheesecactus. For the $50 news promo code to work, did you have to sign up to news once logged into your Education Store or did you specify your edu.au email address or an alternative address?
      Also did it give you the option to apply both the news and accessories promotion codes in the Check Out screen or you did it some other way?

        I could use both codes when checking out.

        I signed up with my Gmail email (non-edu) and never got the code as with many others here. I emailed them from my Gmail account and they sent me the code via email. I don't think there's different codes for edu/normal.

        Likewise for the $100 accessories my code came through to my Gmail account before it was linked to an edu email. And it worked in the edu store.

            @asijna: Its not uncommon that the phone ships earlier than expected. Last year with the S20+ i got it around 3-4days before release.

    Yes both of my order dispatched already. Exciting times. Just got to sort out the screen protector now. I wonder if the tempered glass will work with it. I had issues with it for S10+ with finger print sensor not recognising.

      none of the tempered glass screen protectors work. Domeglass supposed to work, but plenty of reports on the web saying it works for 1-2months before it stops working again.

        I tried aqua gel protector that was okey. But had too much dust and bubbles.

        Then I went to a local store here and they had a machine with customised screen protector for all different phones. Some patented Japanese technology. Been using that for past 2 years. Works like a treat. I went and re done after 1 year because one side was slightly coming off. A bit more expensive $30. I hope they do it for s21 as well.

    When creating a Samsung Education Store account, I create a samsung account then was prompted to enter the edu.au address. Was advised "An email has been sent to your .edu.au email confirming your account. Please follow the links in your email to access the Samsung Education Store." - email hasn't arrived in inbox or junk box (been over an hour). Does anyone know/remember how long it takes to receive the email to complete the registration?

      Have been using it for almost 8 hours now. great phone exceeding my expectations!!! Exceptional!!!
      The camera is crazy and overall experience is great!

      Just my own thoughts on what appears to be the issues that are difficult to solve and they still exists on my S21 Ultra.

      1. overheating. it literally stops me from opening some apps because it is too hot. i am sitting in a very cold AC office today.
      2. Battery life is enough. not as good as online reviewer has said.
      3. CPU Geekbench is 703/2424; complete Geekbench score is 3487. I am not a gamer so it is not a concern to me.
      4. the wireless trio is almost useless unless you use it overnight.
      5. I have my Spen case on my Ultra and it stopped wireless charging because (i think) it is too hot

            @ecumgo: Always good to give the device a few days to optimise before judging battery life and heat issues. Phone is optimising a lot in the background initially. I'm pretty sure that both will be non issues in a day or two.

    Got my S21 Ultra yesterday and have been really amazing. I upgraded from note 10 plus which was already a great phone but the Ultra is ridiculous.

    Display is mega sharp, makes my old note 10 look outdated.

    Camera is truly amazing, with enough sunlight even the 100x photos are usable, obviously cannot compare it to a 10x photo but still useable.

    Macro photos are amazing, a lot of ppl don't know it can do this now.

    Phone feels smaller and easier to hold than my note.

    There is some heating issue but will let it settle for a few days and see if it goes away.

    Overall super happy with it and getting it early was a little surprise, get to play with it over the long weekend 😀

        It is quite flat compared to other galaxy devices. I would say just curved enough to make using the edge swipe function feel natural. Nothing compared to the note 10 plus which was too curved for my liking.

      Don't know real world tests don't show much of a difference at all. Unless you're a big mobile gamer single core seems to have the slight edge on samsung. Either way massive improvement over last year.

        The main reason why I switched from S20+ Exynos to Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon was due to it's poor gaming performance.

        They may have fixed the CPU performance by using the same ARM architecture as Snapdragon and higher clock speed, but Mali GPU is still holding them back.

          Just to be clear, when I say massive improvement I mean in regards to their last exynos chip. I honestly didn't believe that they would beat snapdragon as they are a generation ahead. The problem with the last exynos was not only was it inferior but it throttled performance quite quickly. As long as they fixed that and the weaker battery life and also improved performance then it's a step in the right direction. But yes, definitely the snapdragon is still better.

            @bubber: It is definitely a pretty large step in the right direction.
            They probably cannot move away from Mali due to contractual reasons which is usually the case when they stick with a certain manufacturer.

            Battery Life, Raw CPU Performance both are extremely good compared to others. Just their GPU performance which brought their overall score down, which "maybe" they will fix it within the next few iterations of Exynos.
