  • Thanks OP, so the Shelly one is compatible with Home Assistant or just google and alexa?
Once connected to WiFi do you still need to register with the cloud or does it work without registration as in just local control?

    • +1

I have it hooked up to HomeAssistant, there is an option to disable the cloud.

  • I'm assuming we need a electrician to install these?

      • +1

Not only is there no warning, there's a video showing you how to wire it. Which is why I was asking maybe somehow don't need electrician. Twilight zone?

        • -6

I guess it depends on the word "need". Do you "need" to comply with a piece of paper that nobody else gives a flying copulation about?
At a pedestrian crossing, do you "need" to wait for the green man at 2am when you have clear view for a km in every direction and no car in sight?
If the answer is yes, then you need an electrician. And possibly a life.

For any of these you have hooked up to 240v, yes.
Some allow for 12v powering. In that case you don't need an electrician, but if you aren't comfortable with them then still use one.

  • Is the Shelly dimmer still looking to get full certification by end of January?

  • Sonoff mini is only about $10 ea local, so less than half the price. Cheaper from China.
For Home Assistant, you do need to change the firmware, but it is easy (no soldering).

    • good nes, you don't need firmware change anymore, there is an integration now
