MSO Bowl Concerts - Live Streamed on YouTube (Jan 29, Feb 6 & 10)

760

Due to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl's restricted capacity, limited seats will be available. Normally 15,000, now more like 3,000 seats. It's crazy hard to get tickets to the actual event (we suspect bots) so sadly we can't go - however if it rains as it did last year, it'll be so perfect online.

…join us virtually from the comfort of your own home, through the MSO YouTube channel within a 24 hour period of the concerts.

Friday 29 January, 7.30pm - The Faun and The Firebird

Saturday 6 February, 7.30pm - Mambo! Dancing across the centuries

Wednesday 10 February, 7.30pm - Spanish Harlem

Did anyone manage to get some tickets?

Attended the Moju with the MSO last night at the bowl, amazing setup and great fun. Recommend attending with lots of warm gear and a picnic if you go!

  • Wednesday 10 February, 7.30pm - Spanish Harlem

As in easy listening music like Ben E King, or music from Spanish Harlem?

    • A concert for cool cats and symphony slickers – MSO at the Bowl has it made in the shade with a program to get toes tapping and spirits singing.

Dance with a Duke (Ellington that is) up to Harlem before one of Melbourne’s best pianists serves up sultry Spanish flair with Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. A world premiere by Australian jazz composer Vanessa Perica will send you swinging into the summer night.

      Both? Neither?

      • Down for The Duke!

Just an FYI for those that can't get tickets and looking for a consolation; At the main building there's (free) ticketed access to the Australia Music Vault, along with every Friday and Saturday live entertainment out front, on St Kilda Rd: https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au/whats-on/2021/contemp…

  • The first streaming show is going now for anyone who didn't set a reminder. Does anybody know a program that can record this?

    • You've got 24hrs to watch though.

      VLC + reddit ;)

Anyone know when this expires (I thought it was only supposed to be for 24 hours)?

  • Watching right now. Not too bad at all.
The filming and sound quality far better than I expected.

Just waiting for Metallica to come out
