1661

Hi everyone. Nice cashback increase across 12 stores and valid for online purchases made from 9:00am to 11:59pm (AEDT) today. I've linked each store below, so please ensure you read the terms for each prior to your purchase. I won't be available to field questions today as I'll be in a workshop, so apologies in advance - hopefully I've covered everything off below. Thanks for your support as always. Please stay safe, and enjoy :)

During the 15 hour promotional period, 25% cashback for each store is capped as defined below and applies per member account, irrespective of the number of transactions made for that store. Valid 9:00am to 11:59pm AEDT 25/01/21.

Ensure you disable 3rd party plugins and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from Cashrewards as tracking will be lost (feel free to try our mobile app). Don't forget to refer-a-friend for $10 each ($20 until 10am today) - tip: add your code to OzB’s randomiser. Check out our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions or issues.

  • Thanks! Already miss those 50% cashbacks on bookdepository

  • I won't be available to field questions today as I'll be in a workshop

That's dedication defined. Working on a long weekend.

    BCF - 25%

    Nice

  • Thank you! Niiiiice :)

  • Thanks TA!

  • A warning for anyone looking to use the Lancome cashback, please check to see it goes through. I've had problems with both Cashrewards and Shopback attribution in the past (after filing manual claims, Shopback cashback was denied, and it was quite a large one!), so I suspect they may have some internal tracking issues.

  • Whilst I’ve had less issues with these guys, Its so frustrating that these cashback companies can get away with reneging on the cashback. If they’re going to offer these discounts then there needs to be accountability. 100% of the time the discount should work, provided the user has followed the protocol (best through their apps).
I’m noticing the the common response now is “it’s been rejected by the merchant..” so it’s not the cashback companies’ fault. This happened to me with cashback.
It’s RUBBISH. It’s not right and certainly not in the oz bargain spirit!
We need to be making this loud and clear to this mob! Options?

    • Options?

Vote with your actions. Stop using the service. It’s that simple.

      • I agree. But is that enough? If people are being deceived by a process that inherent flaws / lack of due diligence, should we not try to do more? I mean wasn’t that the true spirit of oz bargain —and why it was created - to stopped Australians getting ripped off??

        • Would it be useful to record your screen while you do the purchase, just to show that you followed all protocols?

          • @gonzule: People have done this.
In my case the company acknowledged my logging through their app and also the purchase took place. But they said there’s nothing they can do to honor the cashback because “it was the merchant that rejected the cashback “
And yes the item was in a category that qualified for cashback.
            It’s ridiculous!

            • @Stingey:

              Which company was this?

        • @stingey I totally agree and I'm amazed at the large number of negs your comment has received. The fact is, the cashback industry is completely unregulated at the moment, with the sector exploding in recent times, I would like to see regulatory authorities step in to bring about more accountability and regulation. I expect this is some time off, but we will get there eventually.

Write to your local government representative then, ask them about shopping online, cashbacks and finding dominoes pizza codes.

They might be able to help you by introducing more taxes and refer you to their online shopping consultant and renowned expert, Gerry Harvey.

      • I disagree if for example only 1 cashback site is covering a merchant its common sense to go through that site with the chance of getting something than nothing .
It doesn't matter what you think of the site .

        • Seriously? You’re happy to accept just a chance of getting something than nothing???
These companies are paid by the merchants for every transaction that is made through their portal. It’s not a gesture of good will.
I put it to you that your above arrangement is unacceptable and open to abuse by the companies. Lack of accountability leads to all sorts of problems.

          • @Stingey: I think you'll find that if you don't get paid, they don't get paid, frustrating yes but as gp said, a chance of something…
            Correct me if I'm wrong.

            • @gunslinger: I want to agree with you. But the realist in me says an unregulated and hard to monitor process (up to 4 months before you get paid) is ripe for even a little bit of abuse. NO particular company implied.
But think of those bonus activation cash offers. What percentage of those are lost or never claimed?? Yet stimulated more buying hence mission accomplished.

    • I have never had this issue before and have actually received cashback on stores that have the "cashback guarantee" from cashrewards despite them apparently not receiving anything from the merchants.

    • I have had clear proof of screenshots that a purchase was made even tho CR claimed there was no transaction made even after contacting the merchant, however in some cases they would pay the cashback out of their own pocket. Still the inconsistency is frustrating.

    • We need to be making this loud and clear to this mob! Options?

Is that CashRewards that you're using? Or Shopback or another one?

If it's SB, this is a CR deal, it's like negging a Woolworths deal because Coles didn't honour their catalogue and you're negging a Woolies deal because it's also a supermarket

100% of the time the discount should work

      It's a cashback not a discount

    • My experience has been totally different, with both CR and SB.

Always follow the instructions and my tracking comes through as promised. I have just ordered something from My Pet Warehouse and got the tracking email within 5 minutes!

I don't understand how had it is to follow the instructions. All businesses have T & C's around their offers which you need to follow to be eligible.

      • For the vast majority of transactions, I've had no issues with cashback being tracked automatically. However, there have been a few instances where a transaction hasn't tracked despite following all the instructions. To their credit, the CR team has always been very good at sorting things out when I've contacted them.

        • I usually keep an eye on my emails and if I haven't received anything after 5 days, I raise a case online. I have done it in the past, but it has been a while since my transactions werent tracked.

    • Agree, this cashback tracking is so unreliable. Why cant they give us a code instead (a cashback code instead of a promo code)? This would be more straightforward.

  • Thanks TA, I've been waiting to get $100 worth of XTM stuff from BCF that just wouldn't drop in price over the last 4 months. A friend who works there says that the member price on XTM is lower than the staff discounts will let them get it for, so it's usually quit hard to save further.

  • I'm planning to buy ACQUA DI GIO ABSOLU FRAGRANCE from Armani and it has a welcome code of WELCOME10 , I'm wondering if this will work with 25% cashback? What you reckon?

  • Hi TA, Shein CR page has the 25% cashback but also a 20% off code, does that mean we can enter the 20% off code and also get 25% cash back off the final amount?

  • Thanks OP. Fantastic timing as I needed to order some pet supplies. Used a $10 off first order coupon ($75 min spend) before the 25% cashback.Cashback tracked confirmation email 2 mins after order! :)

  • Is it possible to get the cash rewards by going in store? I want the bcf 25%.

  • Cash rewards>shopback. Though lately found its not great to tracking transactions. ( i do run pihole but disable during purchase) at least if you follow up cashback items not registered with proof and click history they will honour. Shopback even with proof claims retailer denied the claim

  • Anyone not received the $10 coupon for My Pet Warehouse? Been over an hour since I signed up under a new user.

  • Is everyone tracking their CS/SB just on a notepad/excell or/and in a folder with screenshots?

  • Finally grabbed the paperback (pre-order) for Joseph Henrich's The WEIRDest People in the World.

    Thanks OP!

  • Thanks TA! Got a "Wanderer Flinders Premium Camper X-Leg Stretcher King Single" for $59.99 from BCF. For some reason the Single variant is way more expensive than the King Single… No complaints on my end :)
