Free Pictures (and Some Candy for Kids) with Santa Claus in Brisbane Bayside (Birkdale)

70

I am not sure whether this is the right category (to mods: please move if it is the wrong place) but here it goes.

At Sunray Place in Birkdale you can get free pictures of your kids and Santa Claus (real person, not plastic) in his sleigh with reindeers. Basically, it is like in the shopping malls but free instead of $20. You have to bring your own camera and can take as many pictures as you like.

The whole street has lovely Christmas lights and the kids even get some candy from Santa and his asks what they would like for Christmas etc.

He is there from 7pm to 9pm (weather permitting of course) and on weekends in the afternoon (not sure of the exact time - but there is a sign at the entrance of the street showing the times, also not sure whether it is still on on Saturday but I believe so).
It is lovely and free - if you have kids or friends with kids it is definitely worth telling them about it and going there.

The link is to help you find Sunray Place in Birkdale. Obviously there is no website for this.

  • Nice for the litluns.

The santa at westfields in hurstville charges 50 bucks and there's still a big queue, I doubt you'll see an Ozbargainer in that line!

  • Well, not just for the little ones. Had my girl-friend sit with Santa, too. Lovely pictures.

50 bucks for a picture with Santa is a rip-off. In my humble opinion, Australia has overtaken the US as the capitalistic centre of the world by far. In the US those pics costs between $5-10 or they are free.
