  • If you book with an English or German travel agency you will pay roughly half price. In my opinion this is not a deal as nowadays you can book globally and take advantage of cheaper prices.
    Sorry rep.

    • The price is based on the quality of services we provide, you can compare our services to English or German agency you mentioned.

thank you for your feed back

      • Guess what? When I ask the Chinese providers there, they will also mention their outstanding quality.
Fact is, those trips have profit margins of 50-100% and I'd rather give it to the people providing services locally directly. I calculated the different components separately and found that this is a rip-off.
But don't worry - the German river cruises are the same. Pay 2000+ here or book the exact same cruise with the exact same providers in Germany for less than 1000. Rip-off.

        • Not commenting no whether this is a "rip-off" or not, but are you aware of another tour provider offering a similar tour with similar inclusions (features, quality, etc.) for less?

        • There are ultra-cheap tours that strand you at shopping areas for hours, in between sightseeing, but you only end up paying around $200 for the whole week. I went on one from Nexus Holiday. Something to think about on the opposite end of the spectrum, monetarily if not quality-wise. Good fun when the tour guide doesn't appear to meet his quota of assisted sales.

        • Hi Gallifrey, I would be interested if you had more details about booking the German river cruises directly (eg which websites in Germany). Thanks.

        • If you let me know which area (Rhine, Danube into Austria etc.) I can have a quick look. Approximate date (eg between March and May) might also help. The websites are in German, for example: http://www.flusskreuzfahrten.de/
However, if you could call them via Skype English is no problem - they speak English normally - I have tried it before.

By the way, the same savings can be had by booking Caribbean cruises in the US rather than at a travel agency in OZ or for that matter in Europe. Done that several times for my parents and saved them about $1500 AUS for a two week trip.

        • Good website. Nothing in particular, just general interest at the moment. I was always amazing at how expensive these cruises are & thought there must be another option.
Yes, we've done a couple of Caribbean cruises & the savings when booking through the US websites is quite substantial.
