75" 4K Ultra HD with HDR (High Dynamic Range) @60hz panel
was $899 but then the OZB curse as they sell out! But here is the old screen capture of the price from BigW
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hbX_l8mCN_yf0kBnbyFv8jFKheI…
Android TV 10 OS with Google Play with Chromecast
NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME VIDEO AND YOUTUBE Pre-installed for your viewing pleasure & buttons on remote for easy access.
1.07 Billion Colours, Dimensions: With stand: 1675 (w) × 335 (d) × 1015 (h) mm & about 48kg with base.

It's $700 off RRP (UNTIL SOLD OUT) and is on runout. If you see a $799 version (was $999) It's the older WebOS version and Id avoid that for this Andriod version.
This is NOT a QLED TV but the colours looks bright and saturated. It turns on from cold ok, but off/on is from sleep mode & is very quick!
Lots of settings, built in settings are comprehensive & on the 75" the sound was amazing, even picking up Dolbyatmos streams/audio!

The bad… Well anything but HD broadcast channels suck as it has virtually no built in upscaling (unlike LG/Samsung mid-range & up models)
I did checkout the 65" QLED options around $999-1500 for 65" and went with this as 75" is just huge and streaming content looks amazing!
As I had a 2.1c single soundbar I connected it via the HDMI-ARC (audio return channel) on HDMI1 and now Volume on/off & up/down volume works from the EKO remote for the TV+AMP/Soundbar and here is a quick look of the 65" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LvUS1Pqpf8

The manual does not explain all the custom USER settings but this snapshot froma SHARP manual explains them well,

I emailed Big W with a screenshot of the original price $899. They have confirmed that once I purchase the item at the current price of $999 and provide them with the order number, they will refund me the $100 difference via the method that I paid.

Where did you get screenshot of the original price $899? Can you please post here for me to do the same.

Edit: All good. Got from google drive link.

    • Hey mate Can you please share BIGW response or any reference number where BigW confirmed they would refund $100? Thanks

@amsaini15: took them about 2 hours to get back to me.

            • @Cussie: They have come back but wont honor $899 price :(
I think I will wait for 65" QLED to go on sale.

  • Managed to order one of these at the $899 price. It'll fit in my ute okay, but the bloody legs won't fit on my tv cabinet and I have a snow flake's chance in hell replacing that as it matches the rest of the furniture, which the missus cherishes :(

    Bugger

    • How did you get for $899

      • Got in early before the price went up.

  • Anyone know how to edit the tv channels list? I want to delete the radio and non HD channels.

    • Live TV, Settings, Channel, Channels

Choose either Channel Skip or Channel Edit

      • Where’s settings? Is it when you press ‘menu’ on the remote?

        • Worked it out myself. Long press the centre button

    • Im fold of the digital radio and the auto screen picture saver that comes on. Dont know the music!

  • Anyone who owns this tv can measure the length of the stand please?

EDIT: someone has already posted it above! Sorry

    • Yes but we still dont know its edge to edge of the stand or from the points where stand connects to the TV.
I have TV Stand with width 140cm and I am thinking if it will fit or not.

      • +1

139cm edge to edge of the stand

        • aha Thanks. Sorry but I noticed the stand is curved. Is it 139cm between the far ends or closer ends?
Just don't want to make a wrong decision.

  • I used everyday rewards cards and its 899

    • In-store or online?

      • Check stock online, print out the receipt listed on page one toward the bottom and my link to the screen shot of the old price/website.

Go In store and show, swipe rewards if you have them and if they honor the $899 then your in luck and all your problems involve transportation

  • I tried calling nearby BigW and they wont honor for $899 :(. I have asked for manager from BigW customer service call to discuss.

Just wondering if anyone got review for this 65" TV? How is the screen quality? Thanks. I would be using soundbar so dont care about audio.

  • Can anyone comment on the screen uniformity, especially in dark scenes?

    • +1

I will let you know shortly.. I will literally have this TV side by side against a Sony 75 inch x9500H set later today that I have at home.. I intend to use the EKO at a shop front.

A movie I found that looks absolutely brilliant on the Sony is Midway. Besides testing for things such as uniformity, testing it on certain scenes in Midway will be also on the cards. I don't expect it to be anywhere near as good though.

The reviews online for EKO makes me quite concerned about the quality control of this set. Other brands the distributor have/had inthe Australian market seem to be heavily discontinued.. Perhaps due to a high failure rate? Anyone have any insites on this?

      • Thanks mate! I'm planning to go to Big W after work!

      • My BroInlaw has the 65" Sony x9500H and its better in every way possible but its being replaced with a new model soon, so get a good deal (he got mates rates from jbhifi around $1800) but I know most pay $500+ more even on sale… thats some big $$$$

Its not perfect (its edge lit for the price but a VA panel) you get banding on say big swathes of blue sky (made better and worse by your tv settings) and say ALL WHITE you notice the dark areas between the LED strips.

Ive sen worse on TVs that cost over $1000. This is better managed in a QLED tv (more colours for the gradient) so TCL would be my advice (C715/C815~SoundBar)

Or get something with QLED and a real good Ai video upscaling (links above in a previous reply) like TCL 3rd Gen MicroLED 4k or 915X 8K (its got almost everything you need from HDMI2.1, upscaling all content QLED 8K and soundbar!)

Id wait for the QLED 65" EKO for $600ish on sale (prob around march/april) or this TV for $1k now if 75" is worth it now (my idea is ill buy a QLED $1k when i can and just take what I can from this too offset and in the meantime, my tv is amazing now, today) as 4-6K TV is a bit rich, 1k is doable to loose a little on!!!

  • Hey guys,

I was at BigW Sunshine, VIC and they said it was a price error at $899.00. It was originally meant to be $999.00 (he even showed me the screen on the staff app). Photo: https://ibb.co/n3mQXGR

I bargained with the store manager and he was able to do the 2nd purchased for me for $950.00 instead (since I already purchased one at $899.00).

Anything saved, is a saving the OZB way!

Just watched The Hobbit 1,2,3 and WOW. Turned off all the advanced stuff but kept the color cool (blue makes ice whites look better) and if it looked too bright, truned into into gamma/dark ~ next I have to find LOTR and watch all them! Man, the detail is amazing on this TV. Sharpening at 5… The GAMMA setting (low, med, high) is a poor mans HDR autocorrect. I like my darks to be black with not much detail as real HDR or adjusting gamma to BRIGHT gives details but blows out everything and you then need to compensate with Brightness/Contrast… GAMMA is a qucik and dirty solution that works well IMO

      • Haha, thanks for the tip and will definitely play around with the settings! I'll inbox you if I need anything clarification. :)

        Thanks!

  • Just set it up and has one dead pixel- is this warranty claim? Never encountered before

    • You should be able to claim warranty, do you have a photo of the dead pixel? :O
Just bought two for my new house which we will move in next month, hopefully we don't have any problems. D:

      • +2

After a half hour on the stuck bright pixel is now aok!

  • Just literally setting this set up right now… it supports 802.11n but not 5ghz band it seems.. :(.. Thats a bad start.. Though where its going it will be connected via ethernet. Bit disappoiting they skimped on this..

    • Just check the specs and it should support it? 802.11 b/g/n/ac

      Correct me if I’m wrong?

      • Manual states 802.11 b/g/n.. N can support 5ghz/2.4ghz, but it can also just support 2.4ghz only. In my case both a Cisco AP and a Aruba AP 5ghz SSID's don't show up.

    • The 65" Android 9 supports 5GHz

      • Strange this doesn't then

  • I'm looking at upgrading the living room tv to this bad boy, currently have a Sony 55X7000E so the picture qualities solid.

My one concern is watching content like The Office and other shows that aren't as HD as newer content, being stretched out or grainy on this screen due to the sheer size?

All in all, I'm just looking for solid picture quality in both light and dark room settings and can tolerate some mild PS5 gaming, sound is irrelevant though.

To anyone that's picked this up, what are your thoughts on the overall quality compared to a standard $1500 Bravia?

    Thanks in advance!

    • +1

I’d stick with the Sony or buy the TCL 8k 65/75

Sony X1 upscales, makes anything look better

The big screen has no upscaling for shit res content!

      • Thanks mate! Guess I'll look to save a little more to properly invest in one of the TCLs.

  • Question! And apologies if someone's already answered this….but hows the sound quality? Trying to replace an 8yo 48" Samsung Plasma (I think?) at my folks place - tempted to surprise them. They love their Netflix and YouTube so sound quality is important

    • Sound is bloody good but I have put on my SB 2.1 as it’s set to turn on with the TV. But no, could have lived with the built in sound, it’s as good as any TV I’ve tested.

    • It's good. Way better than most.

  • So if this is still in Stock at my local Big W, does this special still apply since it is until Sold Out?

    • they put the price up to $999 but they are all sold out now. In fact after last weeks TV sale, they are empty for TVs everywhere ive looked

Should be back in stock beginning of march

  • Back on 'sale' again today for $999. Picked one up and for the money I cannot fault it. Running via ethernet, with my Samsung Atmos soundbar and Kodi (on a Vero 4k) via hdmi 1. Everything has just worked with no issues whatsover (so far). It's replacing a 12 year old Samsung 1080 Plasma which is being 'retired' to the bedroom.

    • Hi just wondering - How many HDMI inputs does your set have? the manual says 3.. which is less than what I need. just wondering if it is a misprint, cause if it had 4 HDMIs i'd buy it.

      • it has 3 and it has RCA adaptor to plug. and BT bluetooth of course… chuck something out or work it out for the money, even $999 its awesome and see my last post, with the update this week even better now!

        • Thanks I’ll look at my hdmi 3way switching options

EKO has just updated the 75" anyway with an awesome update that fixes or improves everything about this TV

    1) android has new features! awesome
    2) dithering of 8bit graphics is improved, its not effect but its getting close a
    3) speed is faster. I notice I can now play with smartYoutubube videos at x2 speed without a slideshow for video!

Im impressed with EKO. I emailed them a week ago and already the things I identified were addressed. Yes they need to dither 8bit graphics from small colour bands (it was wide and noticeable on the graphic from thebigbangtheory graphic with animated balls looking good over the top) but its acceptable and all TVs suffer from this problem. Im thrilled as much of the juddering on wide nature shots is now much smoother too. Given the speed of the response, ill email them an update and see if they cant go from 95%>98% with this update to 100%… Id like 100% if I can get it! If you want to know what 100% is like, any sony TV with the X1 chip is my GOLD STANDARD but its also many times the price too!

Soundbars, I suggest something that supports ATMOS and is affordable so the LG SN4 or SN5Y ($250/350ish) or the FFalcon 1.5 from jbhifi @$150 (must have HDMI ARC so it turns on/off with the TV and the TV remote handles the volume too and it does this with the ARC!) ~ Built in sound is good, well better than good actually but you know…

GET THE FREE 4K-ScreenSaver app in the google store and see how good this TV is, I can watch the slide show all day! 10/12bit 4k images look amazing on this TV

OZB has some SAMSUNG offerings mentioned for COSCO members but the base 450 isnt ARC/HDMI ~ FYI… and the 550/650 does not play ATMOS damit but has HDMI

    • What address did you email for bugs and support?

How did you get the update? Mine shows nothing beyond June last year.

  • Picked up my tv today from Big W, but seems they have given me the older Android TV 9 model. Confusing as anything as they are both model no. K75USG, but:

    K75USG - 75" 4K Ultra HD Android TV 10 - SN: AGL0967

    K75USG - 75" 4K Ultra HD Android TV 9 - SN: AGL0879

I've been given the AGL0879 model by Big W

    • Hope you paid $899 for it then not $999

      • The main issue is that the original advert (and still the case) is that Big W advertised 75" TV with Android 10), which the AGL0879 model only has Android 9

        • Luckily for me BigW had an AGL0967 model in stock so they swapped the TV for me.

Anyone have any luck with uploading the new firmware update that srhardy was talking about (my tv says it's up-to-date, with no update available)

  • +1

So UPDATES. First, check for Android update but mine are mid 2020 BUT you do need to UPDATE GOOGLE APPS and SYSTEM APPS. I had a problem with one sys-app not updating but clearing the google play cache, stopping the app and rebooting didnt work (but its the first thing you need to try) and so I uninstalled the google playstore update and then stopped the app, rebooted, let it update and then it allows me to installthe webav sys-app.

Make sure things have not been dissabled either (play games/play music) and I see, somehow chromecast was dissabled, so enable and update too.

This seriously improved the speed of the TV and improved the rendering and colours! Its like 99% now… avaiable to all EKO TVs. I hope the firmware update will be available soon as its been tweaked some more. But as is, this TV rocks! I even put on a new soundbar (Q70T 3.1.2/atmos with eARC for future proofing)…. I got thegoodguys to pricematch online google shopping for $495!

A good alt is the T650 3.1 soundbar for around $150 less… T550 is 2.1 but you dont save enough and the T450 does not have ARC!

    • How do you go about updating Android on th TV?? is it from the main start screen?

    • I don't think there actually is an Android update, but rather there was an update to the Android TV home launcher - now it looks like the Chromecast with Google TV UI. It got pushed to pretty much every single Android TV device across the entire ecosystem.

If you got an Android update, it would be a newer security patch than June 2020.

I know EKO have a v10 Android TV, but mine is still on 9 and there have been no firmware updates (I've got the Frameless QLED). THe Support peeps on Facebook from EKO said "11 comes to your TV in June" but I'm not sure how much I believe that. I guess I'll just wait until then.

      • but mine is still on 9 and there have been no firmware updates (I've got the Frameless QLED).

Yep same here. My non-qled A9 Google TV interface was updated the other week.
