  • "kills 99% of dangerous germs" - noice. Thats some good marketing.

  • I'm expecting a bub in a month or two. Is this a good purchase?

    I have a weak stomach

    • Have bought this, it is handy, but emptying it is a pain, and the cost of bin+ cartridges is expensive considering you can get a 200 pack of nappy garbage bags at aldi. That's what we use now.

      • Same here. Seemed a good idea at first, but the nappy disposal bags work just as well for us at a fraction of the cost.

      • I have this bin and think it's useful, although as others have said, normal nappy garbage bags aren't too much of a hassle.

In terms of refills for the bin, we use the bulk refills from here. A fraction of the price and only takes a couple of minutes to refill the cartridge once you get the hang of it.

        • These are crap, bought one and it's a cheap cardboard roll and plastic, wont refund either.
He's just spruiking his own product and never had kids…

And just found out he just buys this crap quality product off a alibaba seller and resells them.
          Avoid.

          • @waksimus: Huh? I've got no affiliation at all with that website, just saying that's where I bought from.

In terms of the cardboard roll and plastic, I'm not sure what you were expecting when you bought from a website showing you a picture of exactly what you were buying (a cardboard roll and plastic).

The plastic is probably a touch thicker than the original refills, but works fine and is scented as per the original.

you can refill the cartridges yourself. fleabay has lots of aftermarket kits people sell for this purpose. Works a treat.

      Weak stomach .. oh boy r u in for a ride…

We use an Ubbi Nappy bin…doesn't need special bags and keeps the smells away while closed.

But you do cop a whiff of things though when its getting full and you open it to put a dirty nappy in. Just keep some Glen 20 or Eucalyptus spray handy.

What we find is that if a nappy is wet during the day it just goes in the normal bin. If it's shitty it goes in a cheapo bag and straight to wheelie bin. If it's night time/raining and it's shitty then it goes in a bag, into one of these bins.
Minimises buying the cartridges for these. Which are a horrific waste of plastic.

In short, yes. But you may find you don't use it as much as you might think.

Also, congrats. You'll get tips on babycare from all directions. My top tip would be to accept help from anyone that offers it.

      • I bought the 3rd party refills for the cartridges, but they didn't have the same perfume or whatever on them to control the smell. Cheaper/better for the environment, worse for odour control :(

Do you have a bin? Garbage bags?

      You are already set.

I see no reason for this. As a father too.

I found it handy. If someone can give you some of their empty cartridges, you can buy refill kits on ebay (rolls of plastic tubing perforated every 10m or so). When the baby is being breastfed its basically producing bright yellow yoghurt out the other end, gives you a chance to get used to the nappy change. Once they start eating solids is when you get the really nasty smelling stuff lol.

  • We went for the Dekor bins instead. Refills are much cheaper and the bin controls the smells quite well

  • Also at the same price at Baby Bunting with colour options and discounted refill cassettes.

Also on thier Baby Bunting ebay page (free delivery with ebayplus).

$ 0.69 medium size freezer bags. Put the nappy in, tie it and throw it in the bin. No odour and not breaking the bank !!
