maybe mention grey import in title

    • Done :-)

    • What’s grey import

      • Kogan imported them from overseas vs getting them from Apple Australia.

      • stock intended for sale in another country

        • Does it change any quality of them

          • +1

@danielthai44: coming from Kogan probably means they are refurbs being sold as new.

          • @danielthai44: Not really just losing out on the extra year of Australian consumer law warranty

            • @skido: Didn't think airpods had that, just iphones…?

            • @skido: I cant find the article link now but there was a whistle blower on Reddit outing Kogan in regards to imports and business practices…
After reading that I do not buy anything of high value from Kogan.

              • @dasher86: Have you got a link as I'm in the process of buying and iphone and do not want there to be an issue with regards to warranty claim.

            • @skido: Wait so if you buy an iphone from Kogan you do't get two years warrant under ACL? Also how are repairs treated? Can you take it to an Apple Store or you have to mail it back to Kogan?

              • @nightelves: 1st year via Apple.
2nd year via Kogan for grey import. If Aussie stock, 2nd year with Apple, no matter which Australian retailer purchased from

                • @skido: So what happens if it’s replaced by Apple first year? Does that get covered by ACL or still get treated as Grey Import?

              • @nightelves: ACL does cover Kogan but you probably have to fight for it. I don't think you can take it to Apple Store for warranty, you have to deal with Kogan directly.

I would not buy high value stuff from Kogan. The last one I bought was a Pixel 2 that was fine, brand new and sealed, no sign of refurbished. Had it for almost 3 years before I sold it to Monstermobile "as new" no issue. Obviously it came with a non AU power adapter but also original one. But I have heard plenty of people getting refurbished items instead of brand new.

  • Thanks so much

  • so it worth the saving if its a grey import?

    • Base on their warranty T&C, I'd say so.

  • what's the difference between an import, direct import and a grey import?

    • I think they’re all refer to the same thing

  • Just copped thanks for sharing

  • (profanity) me I ordered these from Amazon an hour ago

    • Quite easy to cancel on Amazon.

      • I thought about it but Prime express delivery and non-import, I'll just stick with it. Revoke my OzB license.

  • Can get Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus delivered $125 ($130 would be express delivered in 2-3 days). Need to get Kogan first (Free New user). These are International version (grey) but Kogan warranty for a year.
