The White kit is cheaper at $246.07
Not in stock till Feb 20 though.

This is not a special price. Been sitting at this price for a while now, and camelx3 shows it’s been cheaper in the recent times.

    • I believe it's been lower from 3rd party merchants through amazon (~$222)
however $250 is the lowest for amazon stock

      • 3rd party is amazon US/amazon UK

      • It's been hitting the $220~$230 range 3 times in the past 3 months (19/12/2020, 06/01/2021, 12/01/2021).
That being said, 19/12/2020 and 12/01/2021 were pre-orders. 06/01/2021~ were the golden dates where you would get them shipped straight away.

As ATangk has mentioned they were all from Amazon UK which -as he has mentioned, all show up as "3rd party" stock.

  • I have the 8gb one, it's goes up to 3600MT/s very easily and it is very stable. My Motherboard is MSI X570 TOMAHAWK Wi-Fi if you wondering.

Well it’s rated for 3600 so if it didn’t go up to that I would be very disappointed.

I have the same as you (but use 4 sticks) and got pretty good timings on CL16 3800 or CL15 3600.

16-16-18-36-3800 was the best in my short testing.

  • Good price and good ram!

DDR5 needs to hurry up and make single bit ECC minimum standard already.

  • Let me know if anyone’s overclocked this past 3600? Mine doesn’t go past 3666 even with loose timings.

    • At 1.45v?

I don't know of any modern chips that are rated any lower for their max.

      • Yeah 1.45 - 1.5V

        • did you try turn up the cl timing a bit? also try play around with the soc voltage/vddp voltage etc. make sure your ram kits are on the 2nd and the 4th slot on of the motherboard. If none of these work it might just be a bad bin.

    • I stuffed up and went the 16gb (2x8) route - they're only single channel ram, but they work a charm. I'd say keeping Trfc in a good spot (~540 for 3600) was the way to go [but I'm newb still and just messin' around]

TBH, the timings I have on mine seem nuts —> Ram Timings

  • bought Patriot Viper 4 Blackout Series DDR4 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3600MHz Kit from amazon for ~$195 dollars, its the same micron e dies (18-22-22-42), I don't see a point investing an extra $50 on something that is exactly the same but just a different branding.

    • Except the OP's Crucial Ballistix are 16-18-18-38 Timings?

      • +1

good point, totally overlooked that aspect. Really hard to find the timing info on the amazon page.

        • There were talks about getting the 4000/4400MHz models which could be B-die and then run them at lower speeds but with very tight timings.

          • @Davesday: These are single channel too, yeah? Cos of the x64 not x128 in the description? If so, they're like mine (except I'm 16gb total) and they do 3600 c16 at XMP and c14 3600 with fairly tight everything [considering what I know (little) about micron e] - going to put it back to 3733 and tighten, may as well

            • @NingNangNong: Channels will entirely depend on the number of sticks, and your memory controller.

              Did you mean rank?

            • @NingNangNong: I am assuming these being 16GB sticks mean they could be dual rank? Most 8GB sticks are single rank.

              Can anyone confirm?

              • @Davesday: I've much to learn, thank you muchly. Still surprised I got what I got, I guess - anyway, no complaints.

  • For those who are on the fence, this a good pair of RAM. I had the 16GB (2x8GB) version from previous Amazon deals and it has been working very well. I originally wanted 32GB but they were non-existent. I was so close to spend the cash on a set of 32GB (2x16GB) B-dies at almost twice the price and was thinking twice.

Just adding another comment here for those who are very particular of their RAM being single vs dual rank. While the general consensus says that most 8GB sticks are single rank and 16GB sticks are dual rank, it appears that the Crucial BL2K16G36C16U4B can be available in single and dual ranks even for 16GB sticks.

To find out if you received single or dual ranks variants you will need to check the last extension on the model number. This extension is listed on the stick itself. Also if you can see two rows of RAM chips on sticks (one on each side), then it is dual rank.

Ending with M16FE1 - this is Revision E, dual rank
Ending with M8FB1 - this is Revision B, single rank

Hopefully you get to know before opening the package (so you can initiate a return). Good luck!
