Telstra Lite 2 4G $24 (Was $49), Optus X Lite 4G $34 (Was $49) + Delivery/in-store @ Woolworths

90

Looking for a budget phone with good battery life and came across this recent deal at Coles: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600540 (Thanks @samsal46!)

Not sure if the above is still valid as in-store only at Coles and price not shown on their website.

Noticed that Woolworths currently has the same price in-store and online:

For fans of Telstra and the OzBargain pick of the two!
Telstra Lite 2 4G $24 (Save $25)
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/83705

And for fans of Optus:
Optus X Lite 4G $34 (Save $15)
https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/121162

If weighing up phones, and you want to use the Telstra one beyond 2024, make sure you select the Lite 2 4G rather than the old Lite phone if that is still available.

Both of the above are normally sold for $49.

Available in-store or online - delivery may be additional for the latter option.

  • locked to network provider?

    • Yes, these prepaid phones are generally locked to the provider, though in the case of Telstra do work with other SIM cards like Boost, too, and possibly ALDImobile etc.

      Info from Telstra:

"Telstra pre-paid mobile devices: Only work with a Telstra SIM card. Unlocking fee applies for use with a non-Telstra SIM card."

      • Optus X Lite 4g - works with all sim. We have tested

Telstra Lite doesn't work with Aldi Mobile, I just tried it. Just ended up using the sim it came with (which has higher pay as you go rates).

      • how much does it cost to unlock?

These are not smart, are they? If not, sound right for the current day and time.
