Not the best review on the officeworks site?? One review only, 1 star:

Not the Best system dissaponted think twice.
They work in the sense they record but the pictures aren't great it's hard to make out the
person unless they are standing a meter away from the camera or they are known to you.
The other thing that was a deal breaker for me is when I got an alert from the app that a person was spotted then I proceeded to view live through the camera I saw the person committing the break in but the camera system didn't record whike I was live viewing.
Like hello Eufy who needs a Security camera that doesn't allow you to record while live viewing might as well throw my money away and get a Dog.
    Very dissaponted.

    • Looks like a copy paste error from the Eufy guys while mimicking the Arlo

    • Reviewer didn’t realise they need to hit the record button on the live stream, I guess.

Agree somewhat on the facial recognition. When a person is seen, the app shows a rather small, low quality thumbnail of the person’s face (if they’re facing the camera) which displays alongside the recording in the app.

I’ve been running the system for about six months, very happy with it. Only other thing I’d mention is that when they detect vision, there’s often about 1-2 seconds where the camera adjusts to the lighting, so your clips often start with a flash of white.

      • I bought the kit today. Have previously heard of the issue where it doesn't record for the first few seconds, and other brands do a rolling 10 second record so it doesn't miss things before detection. They have a 'word' for it but I can't recall the name of the feature which pre-records on a buffer. I'm guessing it would hit battery life, but do you know if EUFY is working on this? (I'm still setting up so haven't researched yet)

        • Haven’t looked into it myself - it’s only likely to be an issue if someone walked in and out of view of your camera’s field of vision within say, two seconds. This can be avoided by not putting the camera somewhere where that field of vision may be reduced.

          • @agentsmith: Good tip thanks.

Just FYI - I worked out 2 of 4 best places I would put them are ceiling/eaves mount so the included brackets aren't suitable. Checking out a third party 90 degree brackets and arms from a few brands incl. Holaca. They do a skin/case for cams which is chained to the base with some chinesium chain and a torq screw. Still quadruples the price of their normal silicone case (2 for $19.95 delivered vs 1 for $25 delivered). If I find a better deal I'll post here. On brackets, anything with a standard tripod 1/4 thread will work so cheap products are fine.

Mods are celebrating CNY, hence got absolutely smashed last night

  • -1

    can we still buy it?

  • +1

Annoying OB system where if you’ve made a report it doesn’t let you make another. Eg report OOS then back in, mods should change this rule.

  • Can't add to cart. OOS ?

  • Thanks OP. Got One this morning.

  • Missed it! But thanks OP anyway.
Any chance they will restock them?

    • -1

OW is price beat them, you should get it from OW ASAP https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/eufy-secur…

      • +1

In the page it said the item is not available online anymore, can I still buy them at local store?

      • Office work check out not working.
Called Jbhifi but they can’t do price match as it’s out of stock

        • I went to JB and they said OW listing it as eufy 2 mini not 2C so they wont price match

          • +1

@arimadono: When I matched at Supercheap I had the officeworks page on screen and showed them the pic then scrolled straight to the model number, while explaining what I was doing. As model matched it was immediately agreed

            • +1

              @TheLurker: Mission accomplished!
              Got 2, thanks sir!

              • @arimadono: Did you do this in store? or were you able to get them to do it online?

                • +2

@Woffy: Comments from others here say no matches online, but they'll do it in store.

                  • +1

@TheLurker: I price matched them instore, they didn’t check stock, just checked model number and price matched

                    • @arimadono: Same for me. SCA made it easy, so I'll definitely shop there more in future.

  • can you add an external hdd?

    • I don't think so. But some review said you can do bas storage

    • You can use a nas instead of the eufy base station, but then you can't use the eufy app.
So not really worth it. Just have to put up with 16gb.
Their support have been saying they are going to add external hard disk (ie usb) support on their base station, but they've been saying that for 12 months, so the vibe is that they can't do it/won't do it with current versions.

    Bugger missed out.

    The 3 camera setup is $380 + GST = $418 on aliexpress.

Curious, worried about devices sending my footage back to China, if you know what i mean? :p

    • +1

We know what you mean, Mr. Priest.

      • I'm a NGPriest, not a CCPriest/CCPPriest…

  • need one more deal like this. i need one ! and i missed this!

    • Check ebay mate. I'm sure there will be some on there soon at a grossly overinflated price…

  • +2

    Lowest * $242.00 Nov 12, 2020 - how did ozb miss it?

    • +2

saw that too & created an alert on camels!

    • -1

Chsnces of third party seller fulfilling that order is much much more unlikely than amazon seller and fulfilment, won't hurt to keep the alert though.

    • 4 cam version ?

  • +1

Super Cheap Auto price matched Officeworks for me as it's not out of stock on the Officeworks website, just unavailable online.

Epic deal too, already got cams but bought another set for my folks.

    • Did they have stock in store or was it a special order?

    • How did you price matched? In store?

      • Did it over the phone as they had it in stock. They just needed the Officeworks price to match

    • Tried on their online service as their stores are shut in Vic, they wouldn't do it because the item has to be able to be delivered in 7 days.

    • +2

Just did the same. In stock, in store, and matched (beat by a buck) at registers with no issues. $348 for 4 cam

      • which location you have tried? in online they are saying, they cant price match.

        • I went to Burleigh Heads. Like all price matches it's probably down to the friendliness of the sales assistant so always better in person

          • @TheLurker: thank you. i tried online and they rejected the request. since i am in vic, i cant travel to store :(

            • +1

@Ozfanmel: That's disappointing mate. Sadly another bargain lost to the lockdown. If it helps, I reckon similar deals may be posted here soon as a few people are monitoring on camelx3 now according to comments

      • any chance you can share your receipt?

        • Can do, but unfortunately can't until the 1st of March as out of town. Also, I suspect the deal has long since passed. Could do for price protection on a card, but don't think you'll motivate SCA to match it this week. PM if still needed

  • Bugger. Missed it 😐

  • Does any body have the actual price pic needing for price protection purposes..thanks

  • +8

Got for $314.10 , got Supercheap to price match office works then used 10% off gift card. I almost felt bad for them.

    • via online or phone or instore?

      • Checked they would do it via phone then went in and bought it.

    • Brilliant! And that is probably not even counting supercheap points and dollars if you havd a membership.

    • Where is the 10% off supercheap auto gift card from please? I'm going to try this too if I can!

      • +1

I can buy them through my employer benefits program, no idea how easy anyone can access them.

        • Ahh bummer. Looks like I'll just be price matching then. I can't even seem to find discounted supercheap auto gift cards online at all

          • @kimba88: If you are able to do price match let me know. I’ll ask my Sydney friends to help to buy it for me.

            • @Ozfanmel: Yep, got them price beat for $348!

              • @kimba88: Could you pls share the store details if possible. Looks like only few store ppl accepted

      • +1

        Suncorp benifits

    • Which supercheap did you end up going to?

    • Incredible price, well done mate, shame us Vic's have missed this one

    • any chance you can share your receipt?

  • Got one earlier this morning, thanks very much OP!

  • I also had success with getting a price match from Supercheap Auto in Belconnen, Canberra. Got rejected initially by one of their Nazi floor staff but I tried again with one of the other staff members and no problems.

  • Anyone can share invoice from officeworks or super cheap auto? Thanks

  • +1

    Ahh, missed out :-(

  • Also wish I'd seen this earlier - have one set and simply looking for cheaper way to get 4 more cameras as these are excellent..

  • Dang missed out!

  • Thanks - also got Supercheap to price match in SA.

    • Hey which super cheap auto?

      • Munno Para

  • when it says 180 day battery, does that refer to the cameras and that they can be left anywhere with 180 days of power without being plugged in, and can the stream be accessed from a mobile app? looking for an easy wireless solution but don't want the hassle of running wires.. I grateful if someone can confirm.

    • +2

Number of days subject to how much it get triggered. I have one that been on for 238 days and still 40% battery. While I have one that requires charging every 1-2 months. More traffic you have, more often you need to charge. App can live stream to your mobile or to view pre-recorded videos.

      • Thanks! Appriciate it. Sounds great.

  • +2

Managed to price match with JB Hi Fi. Don't worry about the different names between their listing and OW (one says Mini). I pointed out that the model number is the exact same.

    • Could you pls share the receipt if possible so that I can see they can take as reference to approve

  • +2

How people are getting able to price match? I have tried 5 supercheap store and all of them refused due to no stock at officeworks. Any tips??

    • I'm finding the same, tried 3 local stores with the same outcome. No stock at officeworks, therefore no deal. I seem to be getting the staff who know the stores policy's. Perhaps others are getting staff who aren't worried.

    • Same for me too. No luck price matching..

    • No luck as well in WA.. hoping for Amazon restock

      • +1

Where do you live? I just managed to get Balcatta Supercheap to price match.

        • Tried Myaree and Cannington. Both called Officeworks to confirm stock..

          • @gembel: Bugger, wrong end of the city. I rang Balcatta to check first and all was good, so ran down and grabbed one.

        • Would you help to buy from Balcatta pls? PM me for details

      • Managed to get from Osborne park supercheap including 10% discount giftcard through work.

        • No luck for me too. Would you help me to buy from Osborne Park pls?

    • +1

I asked them if they price match before I showed the specifics.

The error appears to be that the item number is for the 4 cam pack, whereas the description is for 2 cameras.

I would also suggest reloading the officeworks page when you show them, then it will show 'add to cart' before it indicates not available online

    • I said it's out of stock in the local store (1km from SuperCheap) and in stock at another Officeworks store (40mins away), but I didn't want to go there . Not even sure my reason made a difference, but they said "it's a legit price" even when they knew they would lose money. As long as staff don't believe there's a way to think you're ripping them off (e.g. not same product code, or not AU stock, or rebate codes etc) they're authorized to match/beat most places. Always comes down to confidence, friendliness, facts you can show (model #), and if you're talking to a manager vs floor packer.

  • Good value and good deal. Missed it though.

  • -1

obviously a mistake, I'm amazed anyone honoured it.

    • It's been $420 for this kit a year ago IIRC so $350 isn't that far of a stretch. There are 4k models apparently launching soon I read, so it's possibly a clearance. I'd watch for new deals if you're keen

      • The 2Pro are 2K model. Anker posted on Reddit no plans to launch in Australia. So I just bought the 2 cam kit off AliExpress for $450. Will add two more to my setup and eventually replace all the 2s with 2Ps.
