You forgot the Free with Prime part PU ;)

  • how is warranty if anything goes wrong? is it painless enough to get it fixed?

Great price for 2 TB. Might be a good choice as a non-boot drive.

Here's a review on this specific model
    https://www.storagereview.com/review/crucial-p2-nvme-ssd-rev…

    • In the review, the endurance does not sound very encouraging, just 600 bytes

Endurance 600 Total Bytes Written (TBW)

Obviously a typo, looks like it's quite a bit better comparing to P1

      • 600TBW is 600 Terabytes of endurance

        • -1

Yep, it was a mistake in the review linked above.

Btw with 600 TBW, you can overwrite the drive capacity only 300 times, which may be an important consideration for some use cases. Still better than P1.

What's wrong with using it for boot drive?

      • -1

Might want something with higher endurance (and perhaps higher speeds) for a boot drive

        • +1

          You’re kidding right?

          • +1

@Skramit: Oops, I got mixed up…I confused boot drive for data drive.

If it's purely as a boot drive, it will work perfectly fine indeed.

              @twister292: Whew :D

600TBW is heaaaaaps for a boot drive.

Ive had my current C: for 6 months and it's on 24x7 mining bitcoins, playing games, general office use. And I've done 10TBW.

So at current rate it would take me roughly 30 years to hit the TBW ratring.

      • Nothing, if it fits your needs.

        There's some graphs here https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crucial-p2-m-2-nvme-ssd…

It is a slower drive than many other NVME M.2 drives (but faster than SATA SSDs). But it is also a great price point.

  • Compatible devices: Laptop

How's this only compatible with laptops?

    • +1

Heh. Their marketing is a little wayward. But yes it works in desktops too.

  • Good deal, picked one up! Been looking for a drive to just store media on that doesn’t get used much and this is perfect.

  • one day 970 evo plus 2tb will be at this price…

Great price, bought one to replace smaller SSD drives I've been using to free up some slots.

  • mods have updated the price, it's now a few bucks cheaper :)
