Oh yes of course, once currencies go up they reach some kind of "checkpoint" and can never fall beyond that.

Hopefully with MasterCard getting on board BTC, it'll bring some sense of 'permanence' there. Stay tuned for the next halving in 2023/2024, big stonks predicted.

          • +1

@pennypincher98: It's not just BTC mastercard will support probably the big 3.

You can buy cars with DOGE now. 🤣

            • +2

@Korban Dallas: You can buy Teslas thanks to Elon Musk who seems to be the God of the internet, people do whatever he tweets.
I've got confidence in ETH, but DOGE I feel is being treated like a GSE stock lol

              • +1

@pennypincher98: He is still tweeting about DOGE lol

                Anything Elon tweets I buy.

              • +1

@pennypincher98: After doge climbed to 8 cents I tried to sell but I had to go through some manual deposit process and it was down to 5 cents then when I was able to sell I offloaded it all at 3.5 cents. Elon tweeted some more nonsense and it went way back up to 8 cents again :(

I sold at the lowest point for the week.

I lost 85% on VIBE yesterday alone. I'm only playing with a small amount so wasn't a big loss but was a good learning experience about how volatile it can be. Looking at the transactions. Looked like someone on binance took 120 million coins out.

          • @Name: Hold people ride the wave.

          • @Name: Vibe is up 52% today. New generation doesn't know how to hold. Set some stop losses too so you are always making profit or break even

            • @Korban Dallas: yeah. Holding it. Hoping for a recovery even if its several years away. hah.

I do need to set up some stop losses though. Haven't figured that part out yet.

        • +2

last March btc dropped to $3k usd . Eth was $100usd each. Crashes do happen, you can lose 90% or more just as much as you can gain it.

last years $20 BTC has 4x

      • +1

I have an acceptable loss of 20% on my investment , makes me feel a bit better lol

        • -8

Are you one the retard on asx_bets on Reddit that trade on penny stocks.

From the negs, it look like not. ASX_Bets take the comment as compliment.

      • +4

        Sir, this is a casino

      • Lol. Maybe an alt, if btc goes that far next month USD is dead

    • +3

Started with $1k and now have $80k :) Next week it could be half that.

      • Which ones do you have?

        • +1

I'm not the best one to be getting advice from. I just got lucky, i bought Bitcoin a long time ago and done a number of trades along the way which i made money on all but one of them. I've never pulled anything out just been in it for the long run.

      • Yeah, which ones are the best gainers?

        • I think it would be best to look at some graphs rather than get advice from a lucky Ozbarginer.

        • +1

Low cap alts, the same that have massive loss in corrections

  • Min deposit?

    • +3

My brother did $1 deposit and it worked.

    • It's officially $10

  • +4

Would you recommend this site for beginners?

    • +4

Would recommend this for the bonus then try Binance as the fees are better.

      • Binance is better for fees but i find a lot of the alt coins dont accept AUD?

If you just want Eth and Bitcoin it is good though

        It also doesnt have litecoin?

        • +2

you can swap aud to busd and trade with BUSD. There's no maker fee for busd until June.

        • You do not want to be buying altcoins with AUD because the low volumes will ensure you get destroyed on the spread.

When Kraken first released AUD/LINK I remember seeing a LINK order go through at $40 AUD when an AUD/BTC and BTC/LINK trade would likely have seen a price closer to $32.50

    • I started trading alt coins a month ago. Started with Coinspot. Totally beginner. Just bought random coins and now my balance went up 58% within a month!

  • -7

Did I do anything wrong with the referral link?
This is what I see :
Referral Code You are eligible to receive $10 worth of Bitcoin for free! Please complete your first AUD deposit to claim.
I'm getting $10 referral credit instead of $20.

    • +2

I believe the poster gets the other $10. It seems like $10 each for referee & referee. Post is slightly misleading IMO

      • +1

        Should be $20 each

        • I'm seeing $10 as well.

          • +1

@bag23: From the referral generation page:
Refer a friend to CoinSpot this Valentines Day and you will BOTH receive $20 worth of Bitcoin* after they complete their first AUD deposit.

            • the amount of Bitcoin (BTC) credited to both parties will be the equivalent value of AUD $10 at the time the referred party completes their first AUD deposit.

I got just under $19.81 of BTC added to my account after depositing $10 - so seems to be working alright.

            Cheers

          • @bag23: Did you deposit $10 or more or under that ?

    • +3

Might be worth sending them a message, deal is double their normal offering ($20 instead of $10).

Can’t screenshot the page at the moment, but here is a ref: https://twitter.com/coinspotau/status/1360726712552620032

      • It however requires $10 deposit or more, some people have been doing less which might revert to $10?

    • +4

I've just finished signing up and got $20 added even though it said $10 each.

      • +4

Yup, just signed up and got $20. So deal checks out.

  • Doesn’t it take 24 hours for the first deposit to go through?

    • +3

Not with payid 3 minutes for me but can take awhile on your first payid

      • Yeah, used payID and went through straight away!

      • Use of PayID is a nice feature here (pity they don't support it for withdrawals as well). Surprisingly few businesses have integrated it so far, but I recently opened a Superhero account as well and was happy to find that they do as well.

    • +4

I used POLi and it was pretty much instant.

    • PayID took about 20 seconds for me

  • +1

I just signed up to get on the hype of DOGE, but didn't realise this deal was going on and happened to get $20 of BTC

  • Oh darn, I just referred my friend last week.

  • You have to upload photo your your ID?????

    • -2

Only if you deposit more than 2k.

      • +2

I was asked during verification stage, before depositing anything :S

        • Yeh you are right. Sorry about that. I've been with them for a while now.

    • Yes. Make sure it's a clear copy too.

  • Have cashed out ~$650 from free crypto over recent years from $0 investment - CoinSpot is a handy local exchange to get cash out of the crypto casino, but I'm pretty risk averse and have no interest in actually putting money into the casino.

    • You might regret it in 10 years when its possibly worth over 1 million 😂😂😂 , but again no guarantees in crypto, my strategy is diversify a portfolio and hopefully 1 or 2 will blow up lll

      • +1

I might, or I might be grateful I have a lot more than $0 because I didn't lose it in the crypto casino. It's an extremely volatile and manipulated market and outside my risk tolerance.

        • Hadn't noticed a few of those coinspot referrals coming through - more with this promo, it seems. Cashed out another ~$100.

      • +2

If in 10 years the $25 Bitcoin value goes over $1m, then 2 big Mac meal would cost $1m in 10 years time.

  • What is it with crypto in the last 2 weeks? I just got in at the start of Feb, and my deposit is constantly going up each day. It's up 30% already. I'm not complaining, but it's a bit surreal.

    • +7

      that's a bubble for you

    • Its the elon GameSpot effect. Buy the right ones and your bull market wont stop for years.

    • +1

Stonks, real estate, crypto… Warning sign for out of control inflation once money velocity starts to pick up again.

  • can I put Eth in this?

    • U can. But what for? The referral I think need AUD deposit (any amount), doesn’t have to buy

  • +15

Damn you know it's time to sell when crypto has made it to front page of ozbargain and aussie news sites…

    • +4

Yep, the real mvp here. I remember the last bubble a couple of years ago, same thing…. As soon as it hit the mainstream it tanked. Nobody talked about it for a couple of years and boom were back

  • +8

Ok so when the mass get on, that means it’s time for me to get off now…

    • +3

I hear they're still digging up people with diamond hands clutching their tulips in parts of the Netherlands.

      • Cashed my capital out now. Free carry my profit. 😅

  • ADA, REEF, BNB, and ETH. Buy and hold you wont regret it.

    • Have a read of https://www.reddit.com/r/VibeHub/comments/7pokm0/for_those_w…

And then have a look at https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/vibe

And then tell me again how I won't regret it. I look forward to a bs ramble of why these are different.

      • +1

Lol. Vibe???…. Thats like somone telling you that you should invest your money. So you put all of your money into any random company, lose it all, and come to the conclusion that investing is bad..
        What a weird comment…

      • ADA and eth are more "blue chip" if you ever come around to not hating investing.

        • Investing I don't hate; but speculation based on what coin can gather the most hype I don't see as an investment, that's a gamble.

          • @aert: You just described investing.

  • +1

I just did it and I can confirm it is $20 BTC for referrer and referee.

  • +1

    I received $19.80 after deposit
The promotion link details is here

  • Hi what wallet is recommended (free if possible) thanks guys. I am currently keeping my doge in the coinspot wallet.

    • +2

Free wallet normally has higher withdrawal fee.

I'd have a look at Celsius, you can also earn interest while parking there.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/601769

but they don't yet cater for doge.

      • Thank you. I have some BTC will look into it

    • +2

Dodge is designed to be spent. Its deflationary unlike BTC. Atomic wallet is great if it's a few thousand get a hardware wallet.

      • Thank you. I have some BTC will look into it.

    • Do you recommend having an additional wallet? What's the downside of using your coinspot wallet as your primary wallet?

    • I keep my doge in a kennel ha ha ha…

    • Exodus is free and easy to use, and arguably safer than an online wallet like Coinspot. For large amounts or long term storage research how to create a paper wallet, or buy a hardware wallet like Trezor.

  • PayID transferred $1 and got the $20 not too long after. But now my balance is $20.80? I didn’t read the T&C but I guess there was a fee somewhere

    • buy & sell spread…

They pay $20 at buy price.
Your balance will show that at sell price.
Add to that fluctuation to BTC itself.

    • I worked it out that it’s $20 of bitcoin… which is fluctuating in price

  • +3

Worth noting the withdrawal cost to another BTC wallet is -0.0003 btc which is roughly $19.

    • +1

can’t we just sell it and withdraw fund?

      • +1

you can, do it through markets for lower sell fee.

      • I’m doing just that. There’s a 1% fee to sell (~20c).

      • This is what I have done previously.

    • if we use the BTC convert to another crypto, is the withdrawal cost to another wallet, the same ? any idea?

      • +2

Hi 'blue sky', withdrawal fee differ depending on coins e.g. XRP's withdrawal fee should be a few cents worth.
