11th gen out in a couple of months.

Out in March based on rumours I believe. The above is still a good deal, unless we get a confirmation that the 11900K is $699 AUD or lower. But if Intel go and price it similar to the 5900X (which is still a stupid possibility), then the above deal on the 10900K is a great offer. Thing is we'll continue to see the 10900K, 10900KA, 10900KF around this price for a while anyway, so there's no need to rush until there's further leaks on the 11900K and more importantly about its pricing in Australia.

      • Everything i am hearing about intel is they are pricing up the next gen as amd cant supply and prices are inflated. Launch stock usually sell out, so youll be looking at inflated prices and limited/no stock for a while from intel as well… good time to jump on 10th gen while the fire sale is happening

        • Regarding stock, PCCG already confirmed on their Twitter that by middle of March they'll have fulfilled all their pre-orders and will have extra stock for sale. This is regarding the 5600X and 5800X, so AMD is ramping up its production in preparation for this release from Intel. At least with these two CPU's that compete.

They did say the 5900X won't be in stock any time soon, and they won't even be able to fulfil the pre-orders until the middle of April.

    • 11th gen is not looking too great and it's a fair bit more expensive than current comet lake prices.
      I wouldn't pay more to get an 11900k 8 core over a 10900k 10 core.

      • How can 11th Gen be more expensive if AMD are ramping up supply as listed above.

Prices are a result of the market, Intel is no longer a monopoly supplier so they have to be realistic as they are being now by reducing prices.

Anyway, no criticism of you, competition is good.

        • Retailers leaked the prices. 11900k is 500 Euro before taxes so expect it to be above 800 AUD.

Edit: also "Current" Comet Lake prices are well below their MSRP in case you missed my meaning.

          • @Casomme: What a turdshow it would be to see Intel price their new 8 core processor the same as AMD's 12 core.

Then again it is 2020~2021. Wouldn't expect anything less cringey.

Hopefully they have convincing reasons and test results.

            • @Outsider: It's like a 2+ month wait for a 5900x and Intel will claim their cpus are better than 5800x so will charge more for their i9. I think 11700k is going to be priced a lot better and can probably be overclocked close to an overclocked 11900k

Intel will be slashing prices on 10th gen

    • Appear to be getting closer to the sale prices we have seen recently, but still not as good. This was $600 at a few places recently, almost bought this @ 600 from cpl a couple weeks back, went 10700ka instead.

10 units does not qualify as a deal?

    • +2

Borderline, posting guidelines say at least 10 units.
