The USB Hub is not compatible with Google Chromecast TV.

    Anyone recommend one that is?

  • I have one, useful for me

  • how many Exernal SSD's can you run off https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08THKMKSN?

    • +1

We suggest just one HDD/SSD is connected at a time due to power output limitations of some laptops

Just so everyone knows, I purchased the Triple Display USB Hub (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B088RFVR6X) before and it's only capable of a single screen at 4K/QHD. The moment you plug in a second display, both of them will downscale to 1080p (FHD) so if you plan to drive multiple >FHD screens, don't bother with this one.

    • I'm also finding this….although I'm not 100% sure whether my cables might be limiting it (as opposed to the dock).

I have a 2k monitor and a 4k monitor…the 2k monitor has max resolution of 1080p available, and the 4k monitor has a max resolution of 1600x1200 available (which looks horrible, so I switch back to 1080p).

I've ordered a 4k HDMI cable to see if it makes a difference to either monitor.

It's also worth noting that I don't have a PD power supply plugged into the dock. It's only plugged into the laptop (via USB-C) and the monitors (via HDMI).

      • I'm quite sure it's the dongle. A number of people also mention this in the reviews too

Thanks for letting me know. It's not the end of the world but definitely not as advertised.

@b-radicool: Yeah! It was kind of annoying, had to organise a return with Amazon!

      • Thanks for your advice, for the dual HDMI Hub, we will check this, when we come back to work on the 19th, and we will update it once we have the result, thanks

No offense but I hope you seriously don’t think we’re going to believe you will “check it out when you go back to work on the 19th".

I just skipped through the amazon reviews and read a 1 star review from August 2020 stating this exact issue, so in the last 6 months your company hasn’t quality checked/tested for this issue once and after a few omments on here they suddenly will on the 19th? Hmmm ok

        • Dear,

We test it, and 2 HDMI use at the same time, it is 4k, could you please tell us that all your displays are 4k? And you could choose resolution on your display
Here are the steps: 1. Click the right mouse button 2. Display settings 3. Display resolution

does this work with Macbook Air 2020 m1?

    • Yes, it works well

  • I got lost in the detail. Which one would work best with the Switch?

    • All "HARIBOL" USB C Hub can work with Switch.

  • has 4K 60Hz been tested on an M1 MacBook via this USB-C Hub? Most hubs are 4K 30Hz.

    • also does the 4k@60Hz also works in extend mode? :)

      • Yes, if your display supports 4K@60Hz, it will support

  • Do they work with Lenovo Duet Chromebook?

    • If the USB C Port is USB3.0 OR 3.1 Protocol, it will work.

    • This one is unlikely to work well/if at all, with the Duet.

      https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/comments/gj79il/warning_le…
      https://chromeunboxed.com/lenovo-chromebook-duet-display-out…

The Duet is missing key output hardware for external displays that is on most other chromebooks, and if it works at all, will most likely only work at weird resolutions with the Duet such as 1440x900, and a marginal chance of 1920x1080 at 30Hz.

For external monitors on the Duet, you will need a hub that has DisplayLink, which is supported by the Duet, and gets around the display output limitation.

This one I tested may be overkill compared to this hub, but at least it worked with the Duet for dual 2K QHD on 27 and 32 inch displays.

Received the 5-in-1 today and the unit is faulty. HDMI and PD ports stopped working 3 times in the first hour, but the USB port still worked. USB C charger and HDMI worked fine when connecting to the laptop. Have to disconnect everything from the hub, wait a minute then reconnect for it to work. It has been working fine with just HDMI and USB, with USB C connected to the laptop, but that's not why I bought it.

Contacted Haribol via Amazon who offered a 99% off coupon to buy another one instead of just sending a replacement… I rejected it, because I shouldn't have to pay more for a working unit, and have requested a refund from Amazon.

    • thanks for the warning mate. Lucky I didnt order. I had a feeling since they didnt bother to answer to my extremely simple question (above) but answered other one posted after mine. Glad to put my money elsewhere :) p.s. I would guess they offered the 99% refund so they wouldnt have the 'issue on their record' w amazon, so you did right not to take it (y) (y)

  • The 8 in 1 looks similar to this deal
Drawbacks of that one were the ethernet was only 10/100 and the sdcards can get lost in the housing.
