  • Err…what brand is it?

    Is it firmware upgradeable?

If it is, where's the download location?

    • We put in samsung hard drives but you can choose to have seagate or WD
firmware is upgradeable from the manufacturer's website or from ITBOX when there is a new firmware.

Why we have to click in if you not giving us enough informations?

    • may i ask what information would you like.

      • Alot of question mate…
Delivery cost, what's in the box, windows supported, warranty, HD brand, SATA or IDE, etc…

But as Scott already updated all the info. it look much better now but I'll give it a pass.

  • what a shame it doesn't support the .x264 video format. This is similar to an upscale dvd player, and that is not real High Definition.

    • That was the first thing I looked for when checking out the specs. Bit of a shame really, but for that price..can't really expect much!

  • Just a word of advice … read the whirlpool forums before purchasing the MIDTE products. The quality (I bought one without the LCD when they were $99 without hdd a while back from a different supplier) is pretty average. You get what you pay for in this case.

If your after a very basic portable player you cant go past this price. If your after something that can be used as a true media centre look elsewhere.

This is a good price overall for the product.

  • Anyone know how to order the 1TB version (do you simply order the 500GB and make a comment you want a HD upgrade?) Cheers.

Also, product website if anyone's wants a bit more info:
    http://www.midte.com/English/Products/Products.html

  • Before you order, have a read in this whirlpool forum

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/929…

Lots of people have problems with this player. I guess thats why it's cheap. Also explains why the seller is not listing the brand or the model number. :)

    • Have been looking through this forum myself. It appears the manufacturer has recently been getting involved in the discussion, and taking feedback from the forum users. The main issue seems to be with files over 1GB. Most AVI files should be below this size, and if not, can easily be cut in half with a program like Virtual Dub. I think it seems like a reasonable price if all you want is a basic media player for the TV. I just wish it also had the WIFI feature at this price.

  • I bought one about 2 month ago with the 1TB and its a very good little box. Some initial problems but firmware update sort it all out.

Its not the best player but besides Mvix i think this is the best media box you can get for the money.

    • Hi Lingchih, r u an employee of ITBox ?? Your two previous comments on ITBox items are a bit inconsistent. :)

MSY have the worst customer service you can get, maybe price a bit better but you are getting sh*t service plus maybe repaired stock…

never tried ITBOX but i see they are on ebay with good rating so maybe will give it a try.

      #

Never tried ITBOX before !!! Then why the hell do you says thanks on the 23th July !!!!!

      It's so funny.

      • You sound more like a competitor wanting to !@#$%% to me lol but no i'm not a emplayee at ITBOX.

To be honest i never bought anything there but my aunt did. Still i dont think we should be discussing any of this on other's post.

        • ITBOX customer services is rubbish, they even worst than MSY!
I can exchange @ MSY if item is faulty/damage but ITBOX is a painful process. BAD experienced with them.

  • Seller isn't up front about the model.
After reading the whirlpool forums, it sounds like this device is extremely limited on functionality.
The purchaser should NOT have to work out any model number of something they intend to purchase.

    • This is something that annoyed me as well, ITBOX don't actually state the model no. and the picture is no good, because there are two MIDTE models that look alike:
      MDT-PM368HS / MDT-PM368HPS

Is anyone able to clarify the difference, and which model ITBOX is selling here?

      Cheers.
