    From room temp to hot then yes they take a few seconds

    Once its hot then its pretty instant say when checking multiple spots of a chicken

  I wonder how this differs from the ThermoproTP03 $17.99 "Amazon Choice" 4.6 stars and over 68,000 glowing reviews. This digital meat thermometer has no reviews,
  appears to test to the same temperature range -50c to +300c. The Thermopro uses 1 very cheap AAA battery whereas this one uses 2 x CR2032 Battery which cost between $4 and $10. Also the photos show that everything that this thermometer tests is 93.7F, the water. the roast, the beer and possibly the baby??!!

      I saw 1xCR2032 for $1 for a nasty brandless No-mAh battery!
      But not 6xCR2032 for a buck, "you're dreamin"!!

        Prob another size i bought a strip cheap

        Either way a 2 sec ebay search i found 10 x Energisers from an aussie seller for $8.85 so im sure with a bit more search you could find some real cheap ones
