I disagree JeffreyM. Up until this link, invites were still only availabile if you knew an existing beta tester. What's made things easier is that the number of invites each beta tester had was made unlimited. People CANNOT go to the main website and download Joost instantly - not yet anyway!

I have actually not tried Joost but I have heard of them all the time on tech related sites. Are they watchable from Down Under? What sort of broadband connection is required?
scotty, they are watchable from here, though some content is restricted to certain countries only. I find that you need 1.5Mbps or higher to properly appreciate it. 512K will work, but it's not 'fluid' unless you let it pre-load a lot of stuff. It should improve over time - the boys who created Skype are being this and big networks are starting to come on board now.
Thanks Gav! My ADSL2+ modem sync at 14Mbits/sec so I guess the last-mile speed is fine for me. I am more concerned about whether the bandwidth from its US-server to Aust is sufficient to support that many viewers here. I will give it a try tonight.
