amazon quilton is inferior (awaits downvotes from toilet paper fanbois)

      • like the huggies ultimate diapers?

        • +1

          Cant comment on huggies

Toilet paper is my only choice

I noticed the same… Amazon Quilton Gold isn't as soft and the initial few sheets never peel away properly from the roll.

pleased to meet you ….no-one else here believes me!

@franco cozzo: Any asswiping connoisseur would notice.

Honestly though, it's impossible not to notice when you compare them side by side…

          • @franco cozzo: Are you THE Franco Cozzo?

    • How do you price match with Amazon? Or you mean Amazon will eventually drop prices to match this?

      • Amazon often will drop its prices to match these deals.

  • Missing a T in the brand's name

    • how many t's are necessary?

I ran the numbers and this works out to be about 4c cheaper per 1000 sheets when compared to Costco in-store (48x180=18.99). Bargain confirmed!

    • …sounds like a bargain, looks like a bargain…must be a bargain??

    Runs to get this one

Aldi 3ply is $7.99 for 24 rolls, works out to $11.98 for 36. Cheaper and always same price.

    • +1

      quality ?

      • Both are great in my opinion but Quilton is a bit softer I feel. I just can't be bothered chasing deals and stocking up when I can get Aldi at a reliable price all year as and when needed.

        • +1

Who stocks up on toilet paper? Haha..ha… 😞

          • @Steakz: I do*.

Saves having to remember when to buy it or check how much we have.

By stocking up I know we're good for the great diarrhea pandemic of 2021.

            • only time I didn't stock up was during the start of Corona. Didn't want to look like an (profanity).
      • thats a bit personal dont you think?

    • +1

Aldi TP has been confirmed to be Quilton in disguise

Quilton does not feel softer… its the same TP :P

  • Ordered by Amazon once, if these are the same 36 pack, the rolls are quite small.

This deal actually works out cheaper than Amazon.

      CW: $13.99 @ 36x180 = (6480 sheets) = (13.99 / 6480 * 1000) = $2.159/1000 sheets
      AM: $18.00 @ 45x180 = (8100 sheets) = (18.00 / 8100 * 1000) = $2.2222/1000 sheets

That's why we're all on OzBargain. The hard questions are answered.

Glad to be of service. I actually have pictures saved on my phone of the selection at nearby Costco so I can do exactly these kind of comparisons; they certainly don't make it easy to work out at a glance!

  • Has the quality of quilton gone down a bit? Eg not as soft sometimes and smaller rolls

    • +2

Absolutely quality has gone down. Not sure if different pack sizes are made at different factories, but the Quilton I have purchased lately is not as soft. Roll size appears to be the same amount of sheets, though some are rolled tighter than others so appear smaller. In a bizzare finding I found some had Quiltion written inside the roll, but others did not yet this had no bearing on the softness (I was sure it was going to be a key clue, but was wrong) All had the exact same pattern.

So is it a different factory or have they increased production so much the quality has been affected? Or simply a bait and switch? I don’t think we are getting the same quality that we were paying for.

Clearly I have spent too much time looking in to this, but more than one butt in our house has spotted the drop in softness. It makes you wonder if Quilton really still does “love your bum”.

  • +3

Coles So Soft 3-ply is cheaper than Quilton (19c/100 sheets for Coles, 22c/100 sheets for this deal) and scored higher on the Choice toilet paper test (for what it's worth).

  • I didn't know CW selling toilet paper.

Why is this still a thing?!! Can't believe almost 12 months on people are still acting like they are doomsday prepping.

Value packs have always been around. Families exist. Remote areas exist. Camping travel exists. Limited shopping opportunities exists. Many other reasons exist.

      • Nothing worse than running out

        • It's paper, it's not going to go off. I have oodles of this stashed at home, but we are a 45 minute commute at 80hm/hr to a store.

Prefer to have too much than having to use the limited rainwater or something like tabaco weed.

  • went to Derrimut oos.

  • …ITS TP DAY!
