This is a beautiful lens. Reviews say it’s one of, if not Samyangs best lenses. Local stock goes for about $1100. Canons comparative lens, the 85mm 1.2f goes for almost $4000. I paid $920 a few months ago from this site and received it 5 days later.

If you’re not a puritan and want to avoid the costs that come with purchasing through ‘authorised’ distribution channels then this is the way to go. Sure you may not be able to righteously claim on photography forums that you only purchase local stock so that your covered by local warranty that you’ve probably never had to claim anyway. These are exactly the same products. Cccwarehouse process the payment in Australia so you pay GST which you can claim as a business. They have great support.

Note this is an RF mount lens for R series canon bodies.

  Yep bought an A7RIV very cheap here ($3699, probably worth a post). They also organise local warranty repairs so you don't have to send anything overseas which is fantastic

  Trying to choose between this and the Canon 85mm Macro.
  Both are slightly different purposes but both are also quite similar.

    I didn’t know that existed. Shooting at f1.4 is pretty special though. I bought my eos r locally only because of the 35mm f1.8 macro that was on offer at the time. I have the 15-35 f2.8 so I don’t really use the 35mm much. The novelty of the macro feature wore off pretty quickly.

      hah. Bought the same pack locally as well…been waiting to buy a second AF lens for a while. Telephoto vintage lens can get a little tiring

  Thanks OP. Just ordered one as I've been wanting an 85mm 1.4 for ages. Ordered and then emailed CCCWarehouse to confirm that it would ship with the latest V3 firmware (for IBIS support on the R6). They replied the next day confirming that yes it would ship with the latest firmware. Great communication.

    Same story here, just got told that there will be a delay in delivery as their normal supplier who is happy to check firmware has a delivery delay
