Hdmi 2.0 not great for next gen console gaming

you are right, ps5 is capable of outputting 4k@120hz but I doubt it can run game 4K@120hz

      • +2

PS5 needs HDMI 2.1 for 4K 120Hz, even for outputting

My understanding is next gen consoles will do 4k@60hz and 1080p@120hz (1440p@120hz for series x)

          • @Kamppinator: Yep, 4k@120hz is only a marketing spec to me

@Kamppinator: Destiny 2 runs at 4K 120 Hz on PS5, some other games do the same too

            • @otter-raptor: Good to know. Did they update Destiny 2 on ps5 cause the info I saw was it does not run at 4k for 120fps.

Xbox X has a few decent options like warzone I see

              • @Kamppinator: All the below do , very useful on fast games like Nioh,DMC5 and online ones like Destiny 2:

                Borderlands 3 (PS5)
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (PS5)
                Destiny 2 (PS5)
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition (PS5)
                DIRT 5 (PS5)
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PS5)
                The Nioh Collection (PS5)
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5)

  • At first glance I thought this was a LG OLED

I finally got a PS5 (I am grateful) but have not upgraded my tv in years, which is 1080p. Should I get this? I know everyone seems to recommend LG CX which is out of my price range. Samsung q80t or Sony x9000h are also on my radar. Wondering if anyone could tell me how this compares to those TVs?

  • LG CX for monitor use is mainly from 48inch model. 55inch is a bit too big. And I’d choose LG CX 55inch over this as well of course more money required tho.

  • Good specs, what is the latency like in game mode?
Not going to get the oled blacks with this.

  • what's the point of buying regular TVs anymore when these exist

  • This can still do 4K @120 but only for PC because of displayport 1.4
