Lamb brain?? This doesn't sound nice to eat…

    • +2

Can't wait to get Mad Sheep Disease.

      • Seems plausible: Mad Cow is believed to have come from feeding cattle the remains of sheep infected with scrapie.

    • Isn't that what's included in some patties anyway? I'd be game if I could get to one.

    • +8

It's ok. I reckon most people would happily eat offal if it was served to them but they weren't told what it actually was. YMMV.

      • +1

Yep, was served lots of offal as a kid - lamb brains, pickled cow tongue, liver, hearts, sweetbreads, etc - all tested great, didn't know the difference at the time so didn't care!

    • +5

Crumbed Lambs Brains used to be a staple at any local RSL. Not too bad, but not great either. one of those things that were eaten so nothing went wasted but now that we consume, consume, consume there are much better options

      • +9

        Anything crumbed is essentially delicious.

    • tastes like chicken nuggets on a bun, most wouldnt know it was brains

    • +2

I might be tempted to chow down on adult human brains but those of a baby sheep? That's just wrong.

    • 🤢

  • +3

    Hard pass

    • +11

      Drink prune juice afterwards…

      • +1

I wish I knew about prune juice before I shat myself three times on Saturday

  • +29

This one's a no brainer for me.

    • -1

      Are you sheepish ?

      • +4

Nah, he doesn't like to pass up on a baaaargain

  • How to claim? Is it just a walk-in? No prior registration required?

  • Edit made a comment about the brain of the wrong animal!

  • Isn't this what sausage rolls are for?

  • +1

Indians been eating brain for years.

It's called Maguz in hindi. Tastes like scrabbled eggs.

    • +12

      scrabbled

How many points is it worth?

      • +7

        E1G2G2S1 = 6 Points

    • Indians been eating brain for years.

      Cherokee or Apache ?

  • +2

    Lamb Brain burgers

    These sound offal !!!

  • +1

    Free Grill'd burger
    click
That sounds a bit weird, thought Binge Brain was just a name
sees no stores near me anyway
Guess it's another $2 cheesy at HJs with the chips/drink receipt today

    • Misread that as cheesy HJ for a second… :x

  • +4

    No thanks even its free.

  • +4

Do not eat any animal brain.

    • I’ll try not to but any particular reason why? This sounds like a warning rather than a preference

  • +8

A big no-thanks to this… Not sure what is more disgusting, the burger itself, the rodents living off the ingredients within Grill'd restaurants, or the staff getting scammed with wage theft who are the ones ultimately paying for these deals.

  • +4

On the assumption that the burgers are safe to eat, I don't know why some people are so against this.
There is probably offal in lots of others foods that they enjoy.

  • +2

    Yum….crumbed Brain Burger…my favourite (seriously)

  • We need a poll.
Definitely not eating this stuff, but I respect those bold enough to try anything.

    • +6

It's an interesting comment on our privilege as a society where we really turn out noses up at offal, isn't it?

      • -3

Not as privileged as turning our noses against not killing animals for anything we don't really need to.

        • I don't think veganism is the way of the future.

Insect farms > food, likely is however.

          • @TEER3X: Yes, exploit and kill even more sentient beings that consume more calories and protein than can be extracted from them, but dismiss thriving off plants directly. Sounds like a grand plan.

            • -1

@afoveht: Good luck not supplementing your diet with vitamins as well as trying to raise a baby without cow's milk

Insects are about as sentient as the plants you eat.

Now go take a shower you hippie.

              • -1

                @TEER3X:

trying to raise a baby without cow's milk

Been there, done that. Have vegan from conception and vegan from infancy kids consistently in the top NAPLAN tiers for maths and English.

Are your children perhaps bovine calves?

                • -2

                  @afoveht:

                  Have vegan from conception

No but I speak 3 languages and can write coherent sentences in English.

Good for you for being a vegan, but go somewhere else if you want to push your agenda. This thread is about eating meat.

      • I'm just not a fan of entrails, having grown up in a family where every Easter my parents would cook an entrail stew, the stench of it has scarred me for life.

That and the monkey brains scene in one of those Indiana Jones movies.

This might be completely different, but I'm just not game enough to try it.

  • +2

    Sounds baaaaaaaad

  • Come now, don't be so sheepish.

  • +1

Brains… lobe them or leave 'em

  • -2

lamb brains ain't great - just looking to maximise profits because of falling price…small farmer still see's sweet fa

    • +5

      maximise profits

      Free burger.

        1. Customer comes in for free burger.
        2. Customer can't stomach it.
        3. Customer buys overpriced drink and burger to wash down disgusting taste.
        4. Profit??
  • +2

    what's next

    lamb guts twisters

    lamb balls sliders

    • There may not be enough rams to feed all the hungry people looking to get some ball sliders to wet their appetite!

      • I haven't seen any marketing materials on this apart from this ozbargain post but I can't shake off the thought that all they are saying with this is:

hey you brainless sheep get a brain and a free month of binge

        ok whatever

  • Brains being on a chain restaurant menu is causing controversy in 2021. Mind boggling :)
But Grill'd are out of their mind if they didn't think it would be polarising.

    • It is a marketing ploy.
And no doubt, Grill'd is getting a payout from Binge to do it.

    • +1

It's not like they're going to lose customers.

They do, however, get free publicity right now.

  • +5

    Hi everyone!

Just a little clarity around this one.

    • +1

Weird, why was this downvoted o.o

    • Does this mean it's 650 burgers in total or 650 burgers per day?

      • +1

        "A total of 650"

    • Can we please get more information around what time of the day we go in to redeem the burger?

      • During opening hours presumably.

  • +3

We know about the deal, but can't stomach the burgers, the rodents, or the shady business practices of Grill'd.

  • Jokes aside, how does this actually taste for those who have tried this offal before?

  • Aren't they all vegan in Bondi Junction?

  • hmm eating lamb dementia …

  • The zombies are coming…. BRrrAaainssss..

  • i'm plus voting it because they're finally allowing takeaway instead of forcing dine-in only as per previous deals.

  • It's a delicacy in some countries. European Cooks would prepare it for me in the kitchen I worked in. Loved lambs brains!

For a review of how airline Cathay Pacific prepared lambs brains for their first class passengers, with advice of 3 Michelin star chef

  • braaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiinssssssssssssssssss

  • Is purchase required?

    • This one tasted good because it's free

  • No thanks, no wonder they're free.

Can't see many people paying their prices for this instead of non-offal beef.

  • Anyone want to give me their binge subscription code/voucher/thingy? :p

  • is this really 'lamb brain' meat or just a punt on words as plant based protein patties?

    • It is lamb brain. It follows on from the Bunny Burger a few years ago. With the amount or rat-issues in stores, you know what burger is coming next.

      • lnp burger then?

  • +6

I'm Lebanese and we eat lamb brain all the time and it is delicious!!! When pan fried the outside is crispy and the inside soft so u eat it with leb bread and squeeze some lemon over it. Taste like bone marrow but crumbed in a burger wowwww I'd love to try that yummmmmyyyyyy

    • doesn't taste of much at all, which is why u use the lemon…

    • -1

      Yum!!

    • -1

      Coming over your house bro.

  • Thanks not monkey brains

  • Well, got the email from Grill'd today, being a Relish member already. T&Cs doesn't specifically mention "No Purchase Necessary". Any clarity around this?

  • +3

Verdict: overall, it wasn't bad, but the texture was a little unusual. Probably wouldn't get it again. Glad I tried it though.

  • Reminds me of indiana jones…"chilled monkey brain"..

  • -1

As if brains aren't yummy enough, they added rhubarb! Excuse me while I go barf.

  • tried one afternoon. taste like salty jelly, yuck! but not as horrible as other thought. glad tried one for this promotion.
