    Material: Cotton and Polyester mix

    • +2

While synthetic clothing in general is perceived by many as having a less natural feel compared to fabrics woven from natural fibres (such as cotton and wool), polyester fabrics can provide specific advantages over natural fabrics, such as improved wrinkle resistance, durability and high color retention. As a result, polyester fibres are sometimes spun together with natural fibres to produce a cloth with blended properties. Synthetic fibres also can create materials with superior water, wind and environmental resistance compared to plant-derived fibres.

100% cotton shirts are the ones that fade after a few washes (esp. when followed by a good dose of Aussie sun).

Cotton mix means you sweat more. This isn't exactly cool climate we live in after all.

        • Poly is also better if you get hot enough to sweat:

Cotton gets wet, chafes you and then stinks. It also stains easier.
Polyester doesn't absorb sweat, it dries quicker and the evaporation can keep you cooler.

I'd look into synthetic shirts like Under Armour for serious activity in the sun. For a general knock-around shirt poly/cotton should be perfectly acceptable.

Got my shirts today. I got one FotL poly/cotton shirt and 4 100% cotton shirts for my $17.

After looking into it more: I'm just a little disappointed now that they weren't all poly/cotton ;)
