  • Is it over now or not? It said till 12pm or when 40000 gift cards exhausted

  • Over

  • Does it have to be used today? Expiry says 31/3?

    • 2022..

      • Yeah wtf just said that too… Ill go it a crack on thursday and see if it works anyway

  • Thanks OP, free chicken, bread rolls, Anzac biscuits and Avocado dip!

  • Ugh just tried here in Melb. Still worked for me.

    • As in, you just added the $15 to Google Pay/ Apple Wallet?

  • -4

If its over, I would love to know how people were getting those fresh number to use? I know people use those online SMS services but they seem like 4-5 numbers open to anyone and would quickly be used up. Is there a reasonable solution similar to disposable email?

    • Username checks out

      • We are all tightarses here, my son

      • he should be teaching us… his the king afterall

  • +1

Worked for me just then. Not expired?

    • +1

Seems like it works on IOS.

  • +1

Unknown error 5 times in a row

  • ozbargained

    • They managed to hand out $600k damn.

  • I'm not sure if it works, but activated my new kogan sim and failed. ;-*(

  • +1

    App is down lol

    • +1

App works and everything else works such as editing account details. I think the offer is done. ;-( Wasted my time.

  • +1

Dumb question; if I had got the voucher, would it be within the limits of the offer to use the offer to buy something from uber eats that is from the club restaurant?

Maybe it is just down and will come back soon.

    • +1

Apparently not, but I think we could order a XXXX alcohol though. Maybe it would work.

  • +4

Anyone else with nothing in the rewards section?

    • +1

Damn, we had so many days to do this. I can't believe I missed it. lol.

  • Just worked for me on iOS, thanks OP.

  • It's back

  • +1

If nothing appears in the rewards section, does that mean the offer has ended?

    • +1

I don't think the app developer or anyone involved in this promotion monitors this thread.

  • +6

Officially exhausted as stated in the app.

    • Shit was just about receive my OTP

  • +3

    Allocation exhausted rip

  • Just to confirm. Is the $15 free money for any Apple Pay purchases?

    • No. You can use it in anywhere you like

  • Ozzybargined lads. Went to get one for the missis but all goooone. Ah well $15 is better than nothing

  • Thanks OP, got my $15 :)

  • Thanks OP. Got one with my normal phone number, one with my tablet SIM's number, converted both to Amazon gift cards for $30 worth of credit.
In hindsight I'm glad I didn't go with my instinct to buy 15x$2 SIMs and attempt to get $225 credit; I probably would have wound up with a lot of expired SIMs.

    • Couldabeen the perpetual credit machine

  • It worked on an International number as well… lol. As long as you can get an sms I guess.

    • -1

Yeah, I used a heap of Russian numbers and got around $160.

    • Oh damn. Too late to know, just managed to get $15

  • -1

So if you used your first $15 to buy 7 SIM cards and repeated it only 4 times you'd end up with 19607 SIM cards, $399 in leftovers and $294105 in $15 MasterCards.

Assuming it takes 30 seconds to insert a SIM and fill in the form you'd also spend 163 hours doing it at a rate about $1807/hour

    • Which $2 SIM allows you to activate?

      • Optus & Telstra both can

        • Really.. I thought $10 top up is needed to activate the sim

          • @IUisdabest: vodafone as well. but you can go through chat and get them to activate it for you

    • +1

Assuming it takes 30 seconds to insert a SIM and fill in the form

      Gross underestimate IMHO

    • +1

Do you have a PhD in maths?

      • +1

        Nah, I can put 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 15 in calculator.

It's a joke people. Calm down.

        • 6922251x8

    • I'm guessing this was abused with online numbers, ie via websites or apps that you can pay a fee to get 100 numbers.

It wouldn't surprise me if multiple individuals got 100 or more of these $15 cards for next to nothing in cost given how easy it was to game in the first place.

      • There are websites for that? ^_- This I need.

  • wish they didnt announce it on the news this evening making it run out so quickly. i didnt get time to do my last sim card. great promo thanks op.

    • +3

I think you can thank OzBargain for that, rather than the news lol

      • Doesn't help how it was a highlighted deal for several hours too.

    • +9

You do know this has been going on for 2 weeks now?

      • +1

But you only can claim it since Saturday.

        • that's still nearly 4 full days. plenty of time before then to get the sims sorted

  • +1

The app is down or did they just remove our cards?

    • Seems like it's been removed. Lucky I have a screenshot of my details.

      • that's the first thing i did when the card got generated. but the app was useful as it listed transactions and pre-auths. guess i'll have to keep track with a .txt file

        • Didnt even think to do this. Whats the chance they de-activated the cards though?

          • @hazzad: i didn't get around to buying anything on the card today so have no real way of knowing. i was able to add it to the mymaccas app…

        • -1

Even keeping track by .txt won't be accurate. Most businesses will take out around 1 dollar for "pre-authorization".

    • Are you getting “ Unauthorised. Access token is missing or Invalid”

      • that's the message i got

      • I'm getting "API Error: code 401 Unauthorized. Access token is missing or invalid"
Have spent $5.10 of the $15 through Amazon with the goods delivered today.
        Not impressed.

    • I think they just turned off access in the app, because you're not supposed to use them online.

But I just tried to use Google Pay Tap and Go in a shop and it wouldn't work (didn't even get to the decline stage)? I've never used Google Pay though, only Samsung Pay.

I should have taken a screenshot of the full card number and CVV 🤦‍♂️

      • +1

I wrote the card # as well as the expiry date and the CVR then put the card into Amazon as a debit Card and used to buy a small item that I needed eg 2x toothpaste.
        Worked OK for me.

      • +1

I used it in store and it worked, with Google Pay.

        Item was $14.

        • Thanks, I googled it and got this answer. Pretty sure I just unlocked it though…

The last time you tried to make a contactless payment, your phone was locked or too much time had passed since you unlocked your phone. Next time, try to unlock your device right before you pay.

  • Isn't it false advertising if they did remove (or even deactivated) all cards? They did advertise it on national newspapers. Not every one is "gaming" the system.

  • Just bought something at maccas on the card so it still works

    • Well thats kind of annoying. Wonder if its a glitch in their system or if they wiped them from the app? Was there any mention anywhere or a expiry on the deal?

      • +1

The cards weren’t due to expire until end of March 2022

  • Wow I hope this gets sorted

  • I have my cards saved in google pay. Havent used them yet.

Edit: Just used one where I saved the details and it worked.

Hopefully the one on Google Pay will still work

  • Card still works.. But can't check balance.

  • +8

It's been sorted, cards back online boys and girls.

    • +2

      OW. Yay. Humanity restored.
