Lion will be running a consumer-facing promotion across major metro newspapers on 20 March in the lead-up to National Local Day a couple of days later. The campaign will allow the public to access $15 Pre-paid Digital Mastercards to spend at their local venue.

Daily Telegraph -

Get your QR code for $15 in The Daily Telegraph on Saturday, March 20. The $15 can then be redeemed at your local Lion pub or club.

How to Claim:

To claim a gift, the claimant must complete the following steps during the Promotional Period, while gift stocks last:

  • download MYY App (either by scanning the MYY App QR code featured in any eligible ad relating to the “National Local Day” offer using their compatible smart phone device or directly from the Apple App store or Google play); and
  • fully complete your MYY App registration and click on the “National Local Day” promotional tile and complete your submission as prompted.

  • Upon submission, the claimant will be sent the gift of a $15 Vault Pays-enabled Prepaid Mastercard® to their Apple or Google wallet (depending on their smart phone device).

  • The claimant must go into their Apple/Google wallet to view the $15 digital Mastercard®. Claimants must have a compatible smart phone device with access to Apple/Google wallet on the device they use to register to claim their gift.

  • If a claimant does not have a device with access to Apple/Google Wallet, the claimant will be able to receive their gift within the MYY App and view the card details for manual entry, please visit http://www.myyapp.com.au/manual-cashcard for more information, terms, and conditions regarding non-compatible devices.

Ads relating to the “National Local Day” offer will be published in select newspaper publications in Australia, their associated online websites, and via eligible alcohol brands’ social media pages.

The offer ads will be specific to eligible alcohol brands based on State/Territory, as follows:

NSW & ACT – Toohey’s New
QLD – XXXX Gold
VIC – Furphy
TAS – James Boag’s Draught
SA – West End Draught
WA – Swan Draught

        Good point… Although it's a mandatory field, I guess one could put in a random email as there isn't any email verification but only SMS, I didn't think of that.

        That said, my comment (fun fact) was more so around OzB members having multiple prepaid SIM's for their immediate family members such as dogs, cats, and snakes etc. so could get a prepaid MC for each of them. Somewhat like many OzB members have supplement AMEX cards for their pets to get bonus statement credits. People negging me need to get off their high horse =)

    I am trying to use it and comes up insufficient balance? That is for either $15 or less purchase….not sure what is going on? I also can't add it to Google wallet as the button etc I am supposed to use to add is at the bottom out of screen as well. I was just typing in details to use it, but seems it is not showing as $15 for that info

        Yeah, nah. They would just stop issuing them, makes no sense to continue issuing $0 balance cards…

        I'd say it was likely a load error. In the app there should be 3 entries, activation fee, status change and initial load.

      turns out when I tried to buy an egift card from Suncorp it was trying to verify by "debiting" a certain amount. Even though I got out of that it still "held" the money, so I couldn't even use it to purchase the $15 of egift cards. I used it for something else with less value $12.24 as it was coming up only $12.99 balance (obviously the amount held was $2.01) . I will wait till the other money is released and use it on something else from Chemist warehouse click and collect. Even if it never gets put back, I still got something for free.

    Can't get past registration screen, keeps saying invalid mobile number (it's not). Others have said they've had similar problems with 0483 numbers, mine is 0492 (Aldi Mobile).
