Hi Hybroid, none of those offer overnight delivery via StarTrack Express like we do for over 90% of our product range.

Scorptec only offers AusPost Express and is more expensive than us.
Allneeds only offers AusPost Express, but their pricing on this product is good.
JW wants a 3-7 days to process before it's even sent out.

'AusPost Express' is not an overnight service anymore, it's a 2-5 business day service.

We aren't trying to compete on ebay level pricing where you wait 2 weeks for delivery, but we know our delivery time and service are the one of the best in the industry.

If we can help you out with anything at all, just ask. Thanks again for the opportunity to clarify.

It just makes it look like this is normal price

you're assuming everyone needs "overnight delivery."
you don't even offer other delivery options.
as a bargain hunter, i'm more focused on getting the best price for a locally-delivered product

$209.00 if you use the member's code OCAU

    • $157 from Amazon US via AU if you don't mind waiting https://www.amazon.com.au/ASUS-TKL-Mechanical-Keyboard-switc…

      • Yeah, I'd rather save $80+ and wait for Amazon

  • where is the link , i get a picture only

    • Hi Rubber Duck, the 'Go to Deal' ozbargain button seems to work when I just tested it, please try again or let me know via PM if I can help further. :-)

      • Please do not upload any images when posting deals — doing so means there won't be a link to your store and users will just be taken to an image file.

        • Thanks Scrimshaw, noted, and appreciated. :-)

  • $224 I am fine with my Kogan one

    • Most likely not the same quality (i don't own one)

I love my Red Dragon K555 though 100 % better quality than the 2 Kogans i've had.

      Didn't neg you btw.

    • If you're looking for a new one, I think $145 is a good deal for HyperX Origins mechanical > https://www.amazon.com.au/HyperX-Alloy-Origins-Software-Cont…

Not TKL though. Uses HyperX red linear switches. Picked it up at JB HiFi after price match + 5% discounted gc so came to $138.

      • As someone who does a lot of pretend coding typing but no gaming and whose first mech board is a Kogan full RGB Brown switch. Would say you this would be a good upgrade?

As soon as I got the Kogan I knew 2 things. 1. Mechanical keyboard are where it's at and .2. The Kogan board was cheap and I wanted a better quality one.

I've been looking ever since I got it but so confused with options, I just know that I don't want too much louder (if at all) and I want the opposite to compact and portable. Definitely don't want TKL. I want as full size as possible. Find myself often hitting multiple keys on mine.. Though it probably is just me

        • Definitely don't want TKL. I want as full size as possible. Find myself often hitting multiple keys on mine..

Bigger keyboards aren't gonna help with this unfortunately. The spacing between keys is standardised, so with a bigger keyboard you're just getting more keys.
          Possible solutions could be:
          - Trying heavier switches which are harder to accidentally actuate
          - Trying (more) tactile switches for the same reason
          - Trying some different keycap profiles (shapes), some of which have smaller tops which would effectively increase the spacing between the keys. For example I find SA profile keycaps make it pretty hard to accidentally hit multiple keys.

          • @jp1011: Oh ok. Fair enough. Just keep seeing the words compact and portable thrown around, and that it didn't seem to happen with my previous membrane kb.

Otherwise would you say the one linked by S2200 would be a good upgrade?

            • +1

@stevem42: Can't say I know very much about that one.
Build quality should be a nice step up from the Kogan, but in regards to your specific typing issue, the HyperX would probably only be worse.
It uses red switches, which are light and linear so they would be even easier to accidentally press than your browns.

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of off-the-shelf options for keyboards with heavier switches. Maybe consider one with hot-swappable switches which you can easily replace with a heavier set, but you'd likely be looking at total cost close to $200.
Alternatively you could try out SA profile keycaps which, as mentioned, do reduce accidental keypresses from my anecdotal experience. I would do some more research into this before committing though, and be warned that they are very tall and take some getting used to. A set like this is about as cheap as I can find at ~$70+GST for a whole keyboard including numpad.

@jp1011: I agree with jdoa00 about hyperx red linear switch being very easy to press. From what I've read, tactile is the way to go for typing accuracy. I went for the red as it's quieter than the tactile aqua blue switch and accuracy isn't a problem for me.

    • so am i, and i have a few kogan boards but i know they're not comparable to more renowned keyboard brands

I can pick up from scorptec and get it today, not on Monday.

I know from experience that even regular delivery from them will be on Monday, so this is not a bargain, it's more expensive.

Very limited information about yourselves on your site .
Facebook link doesnt work, instagram is a private account
no phone numbers, physical address or ABN listed

Googled your website and found a business with the same name in the UK with the same listed web address.

You claim to be Australian owned but are you actually a real registered business?

    • Yep, I agree. On either About Us page or contact us, I couldn't find any information relating to the address, telephone number or ABN.

    • Apologies Ahyao, good pickup on the FB & IG, set to private from recent setup. Justin has just updated those links for you. (We officially went live Friday, teething issue, great catch, thankyou)

We are an online retailer, and as such we do not list our 'physical address', but our FAQ covers that in more information.

Our ABN can be found on our Terms & Conditions, and has been placed there as it contains our Privacy Policy also. See our FAQ for this.

We will be adding a support and sales telephone number, this is covered in our FAQ.

We have no link at the business name located in the UK. Unsure if they are still operating, we simply have new ownership of the top-level domain name, along with the .au sub-level domain.

We are Australian owned and operated, out of Perth and Bunbury, Western Australia. We are 3 ex-IT Store owners/operators, and chose like many throughout the COVID downturn, to join together, create and move to an online retail structure to continue our business.

There's really not much more to it, we are absolutely 100% open with our customers, and will continue to be with all of you here on OzBargain.

Thanks again for the heads up, it is genuinely appreciated.

I would never buy from a store that the only form of contact is email with no physical address or phone number listed and hide the ABN in the T&C.
The fact you think it is not relevant really worries me.

How confident would you order from an online store where all you know is an email? If we didn't mention it here we will never know you are located in WA and actually exist and not a drop shipping company.

Those stats about rate of overnight deliveries and ratings don't mean anything to us as it is not transparent. We can't see any individual comments and ratings anyway. For all we know you can make up anything you want (I am not saying you are doing it).

Would have expected a lot better from 3 ex-IT store owners/operators because you would actually have much better experience in this field.

  • Morning Ahyao,

Mate, all VERY valid arguments there, and more-so oversights from us purely based on our varied experiences with telemarketers (non-stop), to keep that information at a minimum, and somewhat wanting to keep our group-business primarily online only.

Unsure if you run a business, and any business owner would attest to this, the non-stop barrage of telemarketing calls is a real headache and we simply agreed not to include our details apart from email contact for that reason, BUT we didn't see 'your' side of the argument for it also. Therefore, we will be adding one of our physical store address, and a contact number by close of business today.

Like I said previously, we are 100% open to ANY questions or support advice, just as you have mentioned, and don't see it as negative in any way. We've only ever run physical stores, so we appreciate your feedback.

I cannot stress enough, how OPEN we are to you all. We are selling, as we always have, our online store is simply another avenue to our businesses as a group.

Thanks once again, it IS appreciated. :-)
