Hello all,

This deal is a bit cheaper than the last time it was posted (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/601718), but not as good as the recent BigW deal.

I prefer this version as it has the fabric band, the functionality is the same as the normal Charge 4.

      Fixed thank you :)

  • Is the new Charge out soon?

The Charge 4 was released in April 2020 – unfortunately when the first round of Covid-19 related lockdowns hit. Before that, the Charge 3 was officially unveiled in October 2018. So I'm not sure when they might be thinking of launching a new version. I suspect it may be in the next US summer 2022, but that is a wild guess.

Thanks. If they make it annual I guess there could be one next month but you're right, covid delays on tech are hitting hard right now

I would imagine the Fitbit 3080ti wouldn't be coming out until November 2029 then! ;-)

You're right though its hitting a lot of tech, but at least for this device I feel it was largely Ok for stock levels. I don't think they're selling out for a new version. I think its just a sale for the sake of sale if that makes sense.

  • damn i should just get this instead of that fossil pepsi i like 7 days battery and NFC

  • Thanks OP

  • In the market for a fitness tracker for partner's birthday, she's into running mainly and tracks using Strava, would Garmin Forerunner be the better option over Fitbit? Apparently Fitbit requires a subscription?

  • I've gone a little off fitbit at the moment… my first charge 3 was OK until it got bricked by a firmware update. Thankfully it was still in warranty (just!) and I got sent a refurb as a replacement.

The replacement's battery seems to be much worse than the original… I just scrape in at 7 days battery life with zero activities, just the normal daytime & sleep tracking.

From past deals, I get the impression that the battery life of the Charge 4 isn't all that good either.
