I've just been given a LG K11+ . The GSM arena specs say it has NFC, looks like the global version definitely has NFC , but an Aussie review says it doesn't, and I can't find a NFC setting anywhere.

Would they make the same model (LG K11+) and not put NFC on it? or is there some secret way to enable it (with it not being enabled due to royalty payments in Australia or something like that)?

    • Thank you so much! This is so much better than the downvotes I got for asking the same questions. The Samsung A20 has OLED, NFC, Usb3, good fingerprint reader, good face unlock, fast charge and abundant cheap cases. For the $160 I paid I do not condem the camera. Before someone points out the low Oled resolution I find it very relaxing with less stress on the eye for addicts of mature age.
If Australia gets NFC deleted I feel like Cadogan talking about Shitsville!

      • Have you got a link to the Samsung A20 at $160?

LG K42 has NFC and 3GB/64GB. It has gone as low as $169 before. Yes, it's locked to Vodafone. However, from my experience, it was freely unlocked from Vodafone website.

Vodafone wanted to charge me $50 to unlock. Please let me know how can it be done free from their website. Ta

      • I bought 2 of these phones from ebay (around 110 bucks each). I unlocked both free via this site https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/voila/handsetunlock/self-serv…

It's an amazing phone for the price. I would argue it's actually better than the beloved Samsung A20

I entered the IMEI on that page and it still asks for a $50 unlocking fee. ($25 service + $25 new phone)

          • @hexapling: I guess I was just fortunate to able to unlock them for free. It was the same story with Samsung A20. You still can wait for 6 months then unlock it for only 25 bucks.

            • @MINKx: I guess, that's what I'll do. Many thanks for your help

            • @MINKx: There is a guy in England who unlocks them for 5 bucks. Somwhere here in the threads, he did mine, great job!

              • @payless69: I tried FoneFunShop, but he wasn't able to successfully find any codes for my LG K42, hence I got a refund.

                • @hexapling: Try Vodafone chat support and ask if they can unlock it for free. I've done once with Samsung A20 Vodafone right after I bought it and didn't wait for 6 months. they were happy to unlock it for free. Good luck.

  • FYI, this phone has no NFC
