  • Neat. Was wondering if Gimbals for smartphones existed but kept forgetting to check.

  • +1

The main advantage of this is the small size. It is (jacket) pocketable. The selfie stick extension function is also surprisingly useful in allowing you to get footage from a range of angles or FOV with ease. However be aware that you must register a valid mobile number with zhiyun to activate the gimbal which has (understandably) turned some people off.

    • It's small form factor was the main reason I chose it. Could you get a cheap prepaid sim to activate it? By activate do you mean you actually need a phone number to use the gimbal or just to use the Zhiyun app?

      • You need to activate via their app to connect to the gimbal for the very first time. If you don't activate via their app (and their account) the gimbal does not work. Once you activated it then it's fine and you don't have to use their app. I think a prepaid SIM is fine - i believe it just sends an SMS with activation code or something.

  • Is it a real improvement from the iPhone 12 optical stabilization? 'cause i got pretty stable footage from iphone already, not sure this one worth it or not. Saw a few review and the sample footage is not that impressive

  • $67.96 on Amazon US store (free shipping over $49 if you have prime) and it comes with the combo kit. So for a few bucks more you get the carry box bag and the tripod accessory. Link:

    • Thanks for pointing this out however it shows $80.60 + $12.67 delivery on my end?

      • Looks like amazon price was adjusted.
