  • OP, you probably need to put [AfterPay] at the start of your heading.

      Thanks for the reminder

  • This or the dream machine deal?

haha this is not a network router. you may have mistaken for Dreame , i think the dreame may have better suction , but dyson has better after sales support/warranty.

      • I see what you did there :)

Good points with the warranty and after sales support.

Dreame is technically stronger, but you get less warranty. Dyson comes with 2 years warranty and I have had no issue claiming warranty with them. Also it's much easier to get spare parts and extra tools with Dyson (but much more expensive) compared to Dreame. Beware though, Dreame new versions (i.e. received after December 2020) has different pin connector so you can't use any accessories that has old pin connector. Learned that the hard way.

Also if you plan to buy a stand to put the charging station on because you don't want to drill your wall, it's harder to find one compatible to Dreame. I bought a generic stand and had to do some modifications so it can fit the Dreame. Almost every generic stand however fit Dysob.

      • Ahh yes I hadn't though about the stand and I only just realised that this a hand held without the STICK! probably only good for the car and furniture perhaps?

        • The V7 Animal comes with the stick and roller head, that's the one you want.

You can buy stick and carpet/roller head separately but they are very expensive as is normal with Dyson.

        • For the floors and trunk of cars, you will need the mini motorised head that is included in the Animal set but not the handheld.

        • You can get a hardfloor head and a stick/wand from AliExpress if you buy the V7 trigger. A knockoff/non genuine aluminium tube/wand is $28 delivered (with internal pins for a powerhead) and a hardfloor head is under $15 ($11-15). I think a genuine wand is $50 plus delivery.

The non genuine wand isnt really distinguishable from the genuine! But the hardfloor head quality varies from supplier.

Total cost for a trigger with knockoff bits is $277. (Based on the Bing Lee price).

Some people might scoff. But it can be done on the cheap if you have hardfloors only and don't need a powerhead.

          (Personally hate cleaning the powerhead).

  • I tried signing up for AfterPay but when I go to the checkout it says "Sorry, we're unable to approve your order."…first time using AfterPay and a pretty poor first experience.

    • So I tried in an Incognito window and it worked…perhaps the CashRewards cashback was detected and cause AfterPay to reject the payment?

  • Is the V7 Animal good for hardwood (bamboo) floors?

    • Comes with two heads, one very powerful for getting hair etc out of carpet etc. The larger head I used on laminate flooring and it was great. Just my experience.

I haven't used any of the dreame's or anything and I've been looking at one of those as mine has been abused over the years.

    • This will be far more effective for hard floors:
      https://www.amazon.com/Dyson-Soft-Roller-Cleaner-Models/dp/B…

The heads that come with the Animal set are for carpets, the debris on hard floors will be bounced around.

    • Yes. Been using it for 3 years on our hardwood floors. But we keep our floors clean, no big debris, just dust in general. YMMV. We got it for $439 back then so $359 is an excellent deal.

do people really vac their dogs with these?

Got delivery of the second one.
    It's actually Dyson "V7 Animal Original ".
    not "V7 Animal".

Big W eBay Info is correct, the Post here is not.
It doesn't have the Crevice tool, however still happy for the price.
