Was in the market for some cheap wireless headphones for work phone calls and walking the dog etc.

Saw this thread and it was clear there’s some love for the soundpeats trueair 2.

Well those aren’t on special and I did some digging and these are a newer model from a different line with some good features. On daily special and approx the same price as the trueair2 full price so I pushed the button.

I have this and I have to say that I have not found a pair of true wireless earphones of this price range with better level of quality. Great sound for listening to music and the best I've used for calls too. No noticeable lag on PC and phones.

    • I agree with you 100%. Been using these for 6 months or so and the sound with foam tips is just fantastic!

    • Bought se truecapsual 2 on the 2/10/2021. Just over a month later the left earbud no longer charges

This was already posted earlier today. Good headphones but I would take the sonics over these for the much superior battery life as someone who owns both.

    • Sonics?

    • What are sonics please?

      • -1

https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08NB6ZW2B soundpeats sonics. haven't peronally tested to see if the 15 hours on one charge claim is accurate but they definitely last around twice as long as my truengine se.

        • Cheers. I don't need that amount of battery life but I'm more interested in the sound quality. Had some pretty tinny earphones in the past so I want some that sound pretty good.

        • @gottacatchemall Cheers mate!

        • Seeing as you have both - which one sounds the best (99% used for music)

          • @montorola: I don't have the Truengine SE, so I don't know how good it sounds. I have the Sonic. It has fantastic battery life, but if you are looking for sound, stay away.

            • @[Deactivated]: Agreed. I have the sonics and had to bugger around a lot with the equaliser on my phone to get them sounding good. And even then, I am glad I got them on special for around $20ish.

Not sure if anyone has the other models and how the sound compares.

    • owns both too, i did say sonic definitely has longer battery life, more bass, louder, but feels cheap.

wheres, 3se is more balanced, feels premium.

  • how do these compare to samsung galaxy buds?

To anyone else considering these: they have amazing sound quality for the price.
However if your main interest is phone calls (especially mic quality and noise reduction in outdoor situations) then the truecapsule2 or one of the true air models are far better suited for your needs.
Obviously these will do the trick in a pinch, the microphones still work- but you may have to avoid outdoor/windy areas /road traffic. They are also best suited towards larger ears+ wider canals.

    • are the truecapsule2 better than trueair2 for calls? I'm very happy with the true air

      • Can't comment sorry. Don't have both devices. All I remember is a review I read of True Air rated them highly for calls, and also later rated truecapsule2 highly as well

    • i also have this true engine 3se, sound great, very strong base, but call quality is so so, especially in outdoor or even just indoor environment with noisy background.

    • Oh damn looks like I made a mistake 😂

    • Got mine the other day, sound quality seems fine for the mic indoors etc. Not tested outside yet.

  • Looks like i missed the other thread & deals sorry all (I bought last night).

  • Just received a replacement pair today (the charger case suddenly stopped working on me). Have been really happy with these for listening. Don't bother using them for calls though, the microphone isn't anywhere near good enough. Sound quality is great though.

    • Really? Any idea about the trueairs then?

    • I use them exclusively for work and find they are great for calls. I've heard recordings of meetings that I've been in and the quality of my voice sounds great.

  • While they sound good and won't die due to being submitted to water, the warm water of a shower will cause them to think you're pushing buttons which will turn them off, skip songs, change volume, and call random people. Highly recommended if you have colder showers.

why are people showering with headphones in?

      • Because they have to work at 5 in the morning and don't want to play music loud enough to wake anyone nearby
