same price everywhere, better wait for something like sydney tools makita roadshow.

    • when would that be?

      • +1

        quite frequently,

either Makita Road Show or Trade Days at Sydney tools, total tools, VEK tools, etc.

They will all price match each other so it doesn't really matter what event is on.

        • But if you only want 1 tool, then it's better check bunnings' price first, sometimes they beat the price.

Last time was 18-20 FEB, and trade night was 4 feb, both had spend & get store credit offer.

  • Total Tools Smithfield got some in stock, not sure about other stores.

  • how are these compare to EGO 56V?

    • I haven't used this trimmer but I've used a hedge trimmer and blower in the Makita range and I own EGO hedge trimmer and whipper snipper. They're both quality and you won't go wrong with either, if you are more interested in the trimmer only then I will say from the looks of it EGO offer a more user friendly system to feed the trimmer line. Also I think EGO mowers have a better reputation than Makita if you were thinking of getting a mower.
I'd say if you aren't invested in a hardware eco system eg Dewalt, Ryobi then the Makita would be the way to go as having batteries to cover your hardware and garden gear would be beneficial, more suppliers stock Makita too. Otherwise EGO are well worth considering.

  • This appears to be standard pricing?

  • I believe this is standard pricing as I got this deal a while ago. I needed the blower too so it made sense. Both tools have been faultless for me, but if you don't need a blower I don't think the value is there.

  • Really happy with mine that I got from bunnings earlier in the year.

  • No deal was 505 at bunnings a few weeks ago when they were competing with sydney tools. 599 is rrp

  • Bought mine back in Jan - still waiting for stock
I got the free blower delivered already.
Might cancel the order and do a new order and get another blower.
Maybe get $100 or $150 for it and reduce the price of the whipper snipper?
